My favorite as well from him. Has no bridge, only 3 modest easy verses with a modulation....but that violin in the background and George's voice...is without double one of the sweetest melodies one can really ever hear....so many songs are really better, but this one is just so special...never have been to Amarillo, and and doubt I ever will...but dawg gone when I want my heart to go to one of the prettiest places it can go to, this song takes me there...thank you Terry for writing this beautiful number, and thank you George for the BEST rendition. One had to really be strong to hold back tears while listening to these incredible notes/chords/lyrics......any pop song writer would give his left arm to have written this nugget for sure. Terry also puts in the Jimmy Webb "three/ four" like in "Galveston" for added effect and it works so fine!!!
