AMARYLLI: Vere in Song, Shakespeare's Musicke
AMARYLLI performed this 1 hour concert - Vere in Song: Shakespeare's Musicke as apart of our 'THE FOOD OF LOVE': Edward de Vere and the Music of the Spheres Autumn Webinar 2021.
Elizabeth Pallett and Hannah Grove, both experienced professional musicians, came together in 2017 with the aim of making accessible the lost music of our heritage from the 16th and 17th centuries. Our dedication has led to the blending of two musicians that hold dear the same philosophy on music and the manner in which it should be communicated to audiences, as we aim to bring live performances of this beautiful repertoire to a wider audience and to provide a high level musical experience to those that might not otherwise have the opportunity.
Concert programmes are designed to be varied and accessible, and lectures always embedded with live performances. Material is presented so that students can view manuscripts and instruments at close quarters. Amarylli also diversifies into education providing cross-curricular workshops for schools and colleges.
ELIZABETH PALLETT - lute
Elizabeth Pallett studied at Birmingham Conservatoire and went onto complete a post-graduate course Early Music at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama in London. While at the Guildhall, she primarily studied with world-renowned lutenist Nigel North in both solo repertoire and continuo.
She has since gone on to work with a significant number of well-known early music ensembles including the New London Consort, the English Cornett and Sackbut Ensemble, Florilegium, Gabrieli Consort and Players, Ex Cathedra and many more. Through these groups she has performed at all the major concert venues in the UK and toured extensively abroad in Europe, Israel and to far flung vistas such as Singapore, Beijing, Mexico and Japan.
Elizabeth is a Visiting Tutor at Birmingham Conservatoire. Liz lives in Great Malvern, Worcestershire, with her husband and three young children.
HANNAH GROVE - soprano
Hannah Grove started singing professionally whilst studying for her Physics degree at Oxford and since then has performed regularly across the UK and abroad, both as a consort singer and now principally as a soloist in both chamber and oratorio settings.
Known for the clear quality and agile nature of her voice, she has a particular affinity for the repertoire of the Renaissance and Baroque eras. Away from the concert platform she runs classical concerts for babies and toddlers, has returned to her organist roots, and discovered baroque dance, alongside a secondary career in website design, and most importantly, raising her rapidly growing young son.
