That's basically where all of the uchiha techniques came from, Shintoism. Why else do you think the first time Izanami was used in a cave? Because the goddess Izanami fled into the underworld after giving birth to a god of fire (who was then cut into 6 pieces that each became new gods).

Phav -_ Bahia Susanoo is the god of storms and the sea... who happened to have been resentful of Amaterasu, to which she then fled and hid in a cave until the other gods had to lure her out with a mirror.

The story sounds a little like Jesus's death, when the light of the world had fallen, and then his resurrection and promise of coming back once more, which was shown in Amaterasu's return.
