Another masterclass in how to model ship building. I’m very interested in starting out in model plank on frame ship modelling. I’ve heard Occre have very well put together kits with good instructions. Can anyone suggest what brand/model I should start with that will not lead to frustration, disappointment and abandonment of the hobby? Thank you.

Thank you . Every Brand has Models in different categories from beginner to professional . My advise is choose something simple in the beginning and Yes , as far I am concerned Occre Models have a good fit and Instructions

John, as much as Russell is correct, I believe the more appropriate term for an Age of Sail merchant vessel's ship's boats would either be; longboat or jolly. Seeing that this is not a ship of the line I'd call it a jolly. I AM NOT A NAVAL HISTORIAN, just someone who has done a lot of models and research.

Hey , I bought the same kit I’m missing a few threads , I started the cannon lower mounts on the bulwarks and noticed I used 4124/05 instead of 1.0 mm I’m missing 1.5 black as well I have 2 rolls of 4124/03 I emailed Amati and waiting for a reply , What did you use on lower cannon rope ?

Unfortunately I can't remember each and every Step of this Project since it's from a couple of Years ago, so I can't give you a precise Answer to your Question, sorry . why do you use so much glue that it even spreads?

I think you mean the CA Glue I put on the Kitchen Exhaust !? The Glue I used in that Build is too liquid and not easy to dose. For my future Builds I use now a Gel Type Glue.
