The 'thing' you lost looks to be a "brass eyelet" (used for reinforcing lace holes in fabric). You can get a pack of them in amazon for just a couple of pounds/euros/dollars, and then have both match exactly :)

That's correct, but to order it would take Time and I think the DIY Replacement just look fine. Thank you

John. What did you use for the finished white paint. Matt or gloss please ?

I've used matt white Paint from a Spray Can for that. In many Cases I like matt Colors way more than Gloss
