I'm Team Ice. I love the colors, the design, and it's skirt looks like the one on my Aerostar. :D

Hi there, it was very interesting chatting with you last Sunday at the Cogwarts event in LLangollen Pavillion. Amazing channel you have here.

Thank you was great to meet some new faces (in some interesting costumes) feeling the need for some more steam punk experiments

Wow, that must take a good deal of practice and experience to get so close to that basket area! Did you have to rent the Pavilion or was it just freely open and available to the public? In the past, I've toyed with the idea of first constructing scaled-down RC model versions of the airship/balloon designs I hope to make one day to learn which designs may prove problematic. Your RC videos are rekindling my interests. Not to trouble you too much, but could you point me in the right direction as to where I could order scaled-down burners, baskets, cables, and other parts like the ones in your RC videos. It all looks like a lot of fun!

Had the place to myself for the day, my skills got better and better at flying as the day went on, I don't fly the rc balloons as often as I would like so was a bit rusty getting going. The building is rented for the day yes. Weekday vs weekend prices are different depending on what other events are going on in other parts of the building / site. Rc is defiantly a good step forward with such projects, not only to test out designs but also to learn the sewing skills. Burners and fuel systems ballonsport boelling is probably the best know worth checking out their Web site

This really is amazing! Do these balloons have working valves at the top? Or do you just let them naturally cool in order to sink? Thanks for sharing. :)
@TheBigBalloonFestival2 жыл бұрын
Parachute valves are becoming more common in recent years, but my fleet don't have them, I just alow them to naturally cool which doesn't take long due to the large surface area to small volume. Check out this link where I got to film a model operating it's parachute (from the air) kzbin.info/www/bejne/a2PcdXylnN-qY6s

I made my own out of plastic and it flew half a mile away from were we live in a field and I couldn’t find it so someone probably nicked it😔

And in another video at the midlands air fest which is down the road from we’re we live we see your balloon inflating🤔

Good to hear your building models, perhaps paper will be a good start to making them if your letting them float away (so they can be biodegradable if you do loose them - which is easy to do) - once you are sewing balloons, you will be much keener to prevent them flying away, because it takes a lot of effort to assemble them, but using paper and plastic is a great low cost way to engineer the shape before moving to Nylon

were do you buy the nylon from

@Dare2dash - have a look at westmarkcorp.com - I'm told this is a good place to look and that people in the US are using `70D nylon ripstop` to build, you can also talk to balloon repair stations, if you know of one, they may be able to offer roll ends and offcuts to add some extra colours to a scheme - hope that helps, I look forward to seeing the results of your project / build some time
