Please remember to use PPE! Especially if you sand the glass at all. Micro-glass is incredibly dangerous for lungs

Just use proper ventilation when soldering! I did it outside and still breathed in fumes. :’) I had to add a box fan as well.

Electrical engineer here, I’m so glad that you are using the tip tinner! Not only does it help with picking up solder, but if you tin the tip after use, it helps clean the flux residue off and helps prevent corrosion, helping your tips to last longer. I always tin the tip before I turn my iron off for the day. Love the video!

I work in medical device assembly soldering 8 hours a day and we don't do this, they also tell us to clean our tips with a wet rag... they are constantly having to be replaced and we always get in trouble for not taking care of them... like dude you're literally telling me to make this thing rusty and then get mad at me when it rusts 😭

Are there different colors for the solder? I honestly think that would look much prettier with the copper color because of the orange against the blue creates a nice contrast.

Ahhh I’m so happy I found this video! I recently started jewelry soft soldering but my solder doesn’t run smoothly. Sometimes it even stuck onto the piece I was working on when I tried to go back over it. And I thought I either wasn’t applying enough flux or was applying too much but that didn’t seem to be it. So I couldn’t figure out what I was doing wrong because I haven’t seen many tutorials. And they never really gave a specific temperature to start with. Now I’m gonna order some of that cleaning stuff from the beginning and increase the temperature to see if that helps me out.

So beautiful! Your work and videos have pushed me to take the step to try stained glass work.❤ I've worked with glass, made marbles and some other glass pieces, but sculpting with clay has always been my world. I started in highschool with large blocks of natural clay and just fell in love. I also work with oven bake and air dry clay, and I love carving bone dry clay, which was frowned upon back when I was a teenager because of the danger, but apparently it's a big thing now?
