I don't own Hey 3S so I can't talk to much about it. If I look at specification written here: en.weloop.cn/Product/Hey3S Hey 3S is better in water resistant aspect. It is Water Resist 5ATM which mean you can use it while swimming. On the other hand, Amazfit Bip has Barometer and Altimeter sensor. The hole in the amazfit bip is for measuring the air pressure. When we use compass it works for measuring air pressure.

Great video! Thanks. As others have mentioned, the small hole is for the barometer. I believe that the Chinese version supports Chinese and English but the international version has support for French, German, Portuguese, etc.

Although the watch is IP68 certified, I've used the watch in the ocean for swimming, kayaking and sailing, despite being submerged for long periods, the watch still functioned perfectly and did not have any problems. It also worked perfectly after I went for a few hours of swimming in a swimming pool.

A great review! The big criticism is that the app is really only for IOS and Android. So if you use Blackberry you're out of luck. I have to use my wife's Samsung which is v. Inconvenient. When bought I assumed it would pair with Blackberry 10. There should be a clear warning about that on the advertising, I suggest.

IP68 I think means it's certified for submersion but not from water sprays like rain or faucet pressure. It needs a separate certification for water spray resistance.

I have the same problem. One week ago start showing some strange bars in the screen. That was for ~5 days. During those 5 days the scrin have some short random moments when the screen work perfectly. But from yesterday just turn black and not more ... I am desperate. Anyone know why that happen? Any solution?

I suggest you to stop. There is a chance that inside watch button, there is rubber seal / gaskets and soap might degrade rubber gaskets. However, some people says it's ok to wear it while shower, but I personally won't do that.

MiFit app is compatible with nothing & without it this watch is junk. MiFit won't run / isn't compatible on any of my android phones, my Nexus 2013 tablet, my H96 Pro+ TV box, any of my older iPhones, and doesn't even exist for my Windows Phone. So be warned, you need a brand new $600 phone to use this watch or you're shit outta luck.

My impression is it does not have barometric pressure sensor. It only uses GPS altitude. Because if you go to compass and slide left it will show you pressure but it takes time to load, and it load together with coordinates. In short, it behaves as GPS only device.

No, it's not easily scratch. I always wear this watch when I sleep at night and the screen seems fine with no scratch at all. You just need to avoid sand as sand is abrasive. The screen hardness is like any modern smartphone with Gorilla Glass.

Do you mean "stop working" is the battery drain out? If the bip is not connected to the phone, the battery can last for 40+ days than you *need to recharge it.* If it's connected, then battery life is depend on your usage. Don't leave the battery completely discharged because it may damage the battery in long term.

Unfortunately I don't own Watch GT at the moment. The price difference with Amazfit Bip is quite large actually. All I can say is, if you want "the look" and a good looking screen display, then go for Watch GT. The screen quality is like heaven and earth. Watch GT will show a vivid looking color and smooth (high density) icon. However, Watch GT not support always on display.

1. How long? BT on the Amazfit Bip is always on and it'll always connected. 2. How far: around 10m, it also depends on yourphone Bluetooth strenght. 3. We can't get notification if Bluetooth disconnected. Amazfit Bip only use BT to connect to phone, no other way.

The video is really good. I came here for the ‘Always On’ feature. However it is a hit and miss. How come you say this watch is ‘always on’ when the backlight switches off in 10 sec? And the light is turned on after a STRONG flip of wrist ! After a point it’s boring to flip the arm strongly to see light.

Do you ever found a wrist watch with always on backlight? Is there any in the world? Well, if you compared with Apple watch always on, etc. Yeah, it's always on, but the battery only last one day. I prefer the always on screen on Amazfit bip because most of the day I don't use the backlight (I turn off the auto light). I only use the backlight in really dark environment, just like when I use normal digital watch.

All light that is absorbed by any surface is the light waves except for the color you see, So all light is absorbed by all physical objects except for the light wave that IS reflected is what you see and observe using your eyes. I wonder what the features are for the bicycle part. I'm considering using a watch instead of a bike computer. Does it have a trip distance and a total odometer? Is it just for one bike? Does it sync with strava?

Bicycle menu: time, speed, distance, elevation, heart rate and two other menus that I didn't quite understand (it has rocket icon). We must start bicycle feature every time we want to ride a bike, so the distance is for one trip, no total odometer (or I don't know how to do it). Mi Band 3 will be more comfortable to wear and it has better water resistant capability. However Mi Band 3 doesn't have GPS (it use your phone GPS to track activity) and if you wear it in direct sunlight, Amazfit Bip has better sceen visibility. If you doesn't need built in GPS or you need to wear it while swimming, then you can go for Mi Band 3 because it's cheaper. Other than that I still prefer Amazfit Bip.

You need a brand new $600 Smart phone to do anything with this damn watch as everything relies on the Mi Fit App. The Mi Fit App is not compatible with my Nexus 2013 running the latest Android; not compatible with Windows Phone, not compatible with my older Iphones or older Android phones; and not compatible with Windows or Linux laptops or desktops. Basically, not compatible with a damn device I have anywhere. I thought for sure it would be compatible with the latest Android version running on Googles Reference design tablet the Nexus 2013. Xiaomi doesn't have their shit together yet, and I can't believe reviewers are recommending this piece of junk. Do yourself a favor and skip it.
