Thanks for the review. Could you tell us more about the battery life?

It's very good, 24 hours with constant sleep monitoring, daytime notifications from whatsapp and facebook, 45 minutes of GPS usage on my bike, just used 1% of the battery.

Thanks for the unbox. May I ask, does the watch have a beep or audible notification for alarm or alerts? I understand there is no speaker for calls but is the alarm or.countdown timer vibrate only?

It's vibrate only for alarm & countdown timer on GTR.

No audibles, but it has a vibration composer and you can create different types of vibrations so you can tell by them what notification you have received.

No, it has rather powerful vibration, it's even possible to wake you up :)

Do you get notifications for events on your calendar? I like to add reminders there.

It has an option for adding events in the app, but I haven't used it.

I've just got mine a few days ago. Can't record any activities because the GPS doesn't work anyhow. I am very worried! Will they fix it?

It takes a bit of time to get a lock, also use the amazfit app to get A-GPS update that will improve things.

@@Fruzsi622 I found GPS for running and cycling to work ok. Getting a lock can be slow but mostly it was ok. Where it completely fell apart was open water swimming. Not fit for purpose at all. Would lose lock within 50m. I even swam the second length 4 times stopping and starting each time. I got 4 totally different distance measurements. Not fit for purpose at all

Hi! It has notifications about phone call or just miss call?

It shows you who is calling / contact / number name and also has options to answer or cancel, but you need to use the phone to talk.

I like the design and the slim case, but I consider the software being its weaknesses and it kinda lags. Q: how are notifications displayed? Does it have a sleep log? Can be connected to popular health, fitness, tracking apps? Does it have his own appstore? Hai noroc;)

Notifications are text only (for now) and they work for almost any app such as whatsapp, mesenges, sms, etc. You can also compose your own vibration patterns so you know which app is sending you alerts. It also has a sleep monitor just like the Mi Band series and an option to increase accuracy by constantly using the pulse rate sensor. Using the stock amazfit app it's possible to connect it with starva sport app. There is no app store for it, it just relies by it's firmware and settings you do in the amazfit app.

It works ok, tested with KZbin Music and it's fine, shows track name / artist and you can skip forward / backward.

Are Android wear watchfaces compatible with this model?

There are some sites that offer new watch faces already and most of them are ported / made to look just like some of the ones on the other series such as Pace and Stratos.

Can I receive calls by using Amazfit GTR?

You can answer to them or cancel them, but you still need to talk at your phone. It also displays who is call you.

It's ok, but it's not very accurate, sometimes works perfectly, other times it gets some offset / deviation from the real track. Probably it will be fixed with an update.

Be aware that the GPS accuracy of the GTR is very poor which affects the various speed, pace etc. metrics whilst running. Contacted Amazfit, got this response: As for the GPS issue, our developer team are working on it and we will release an update to optimize it. Thank you for your patience and support and sorry again about the inconvenience. Sent Aug 29th.

Perhaps, a serious review would specify that the app only supports walking, running and cycling, not the 12/9 sports / activities advertised. As a swimmer, I threw away 150 euros. But the worst is feeling cheated.

You can find the other sport modes inside the workout option within the watch itself.
