I am aligned more to buy Trex pro, only because of its glass protection dept and Gorilla usage. That is more important I see in the watch.

I understand Gorilla Glass is missed on T-Rex 2. T-Rex 2 does have some features like the ability to import your own maps on the watch. If you don't need them then T-Rex Pro is more than a decent watch for daily usage. Do consider subscribing to get the latest update on wearable tech.

Amazefit Trex-2 described 'Automatically recognize the movements and count the reps of dozens of types of strength training exercises'. So does it really count reputations and Calories etc. while doing chicest, bicep, leg workouts?

It does count biceps curls but fails to detect other types of reps most of the time. Other built-in strength training profiles are pretty basic and only record metrics like HR, Time elapsed, & calories burned.

It tries. It's most helpful when you go for a walk or run and forget to start the workout on the watch. That being said, just be proactive. It's not magic. Just manually kickstart things.

If Amazfit past trend is anything to go by then T Rex 2 Pro will be launched before T Rex 3 or T Rex 4. Don't expect any next-gen T-Rex watches this year. Samsung is reportedly launching a Pro Model with a bigger battery so you can wait for that. However, T Rex 2 is a rugged outdoor smartwatch and isn't really targeting GTR 3 Pro or Samsung Watch 5 crowd.

I really don't think Samsung and Amazfit are an apples to apples comparison. One needs to be charged every day or two the other needs to be charged every week or two. Just a very different products. Wear os definitely has more feature Rich stuff, but you just got to be aware that it's perpetual battery anxiety

I fear my tic watch pro 3 battery is dying. Think I might go this direction. You can find the cheapest one for 70 the mid-range one for 140 and the most expensive one for $200. My needs are pretty modest basically just need a reliable pedometer, Bluetooth calling, good battery life and modest sleep tracking would be a nice bonus.

Go with GTR 3 Pro or 4 as both the watches comes with BlueTooth calling. T-Rex series don't support BlueTooth calling.

Does the difference in screen resolution a big factor. I mean, can we clearly make out the difference between the screen of Trex pro and Trex 2 while using. Similarly the GPS update. No, you won't find much difference between the two in terms of display. GPS updates would help in challenging conditions like high-rise buildings but not in open-air scenarios. Besides that, you will get the ability to import maps & some new sports profiles like multisports, strength training & more. These features might not be a priority for everyone so T-Rex Pro is a decent smartwatch as well.

If you do go to extreme places like skiing or multiday hikes then definitely go for T-Rex 2. However, if you only do occasional running, want to track your steps, sync notifications, and track your sleep then T Rex Pro will be enough. There are some pretty good upgrades on the T-Rex 2 it's up to whether or not you need them. There is no single correct answer to this question because if HR & GPS accuracy is important then go with the T-Rex 2. Just check whether the watch you want has all the features you need.

I returned the Pro and got the 2 because the *significant* battery improvement was worth the price difference. It wasn't bad with the Pro, but it is excellent with the 2. That was important to me.

No, you cannot make and receive calls over Bluetooth on the Amazfit T-Rex Pro. But, you get a notification of the phone call and accept/reject it.

They did not release real time navigation update and track back feature as promised on June 26, which is kinda disappointing... I can only imagine long term software support for this watch

My attitude when it comes to recommending Amazfit smartwatches is, " Don't expect any new feature or software updates". Unlike, Samsung or Garmin watches which constantly improve their services Amazfit doesn't. As of right now, it would be fair to assume that their goal is more hardware sales. This also incentivizes them to keep the feature for the next-gen watch(GTR 4 / T Rex Pro 2) or launch it first on a new smartwatch. Sometimes they do surprise me, like when an update finally allowed you to reply to notifications or running-oriented features like the virtual pacer & Hr alerts. However, it's incremental updates and nothing major, you are going to get those updates (trackback and real-time navigation) just not at the time they have promised.

There is no smartwatch that is completely scratch resistant. For daily usage, you wouldn't need tempered glass. Still, you can consider buying one it will ensure watch remain protected. For what's it worth, this watch is definitely more scratch resistant then Amazfit GTR 3.

I do not have T-Rex pin's to test it with T-Rex 2 but they should be compatible with each other. However, charging speed might vary a little. I have used GTR 4's cable on T-Rex 2 and it works without any issues.

There aren't rugged watches at the price range that are even comparable to the T-Rex series. So all are value for money but you will have to select what are the features that you need the most. However, I would recommend avoiding first gen T-Rex.
