Today is another blast from the past at Corvette World where I drive a 757 Callaway C7 Z06. This was an amazing experience that Robert and I enjoyed together. I think Callaway definitely did an outstanding job adding so much horsepower to the C7 Z06 and still making it drive and handle the way it does.

Just found this post, liked watching it. I own a 2017 Callaway Corvette 25th Anniversary Edition, one of only 25 built. I paid to have the privilege of having this installed on my original Callaway Z06 and never looked back at doing it. Callaway's are special no matter what, but this addition really makes it quite rare. I also own a 2019 Callaway Camaro ZL1 and a 2021 Callaway Silverado LTZ, so am obviously a Callaway Cars committed customer who can drive a Callaway not matter what my northern Michigan weather throws at me...Big Smile.

Great ride! I am glad they stayed out of the exhaust and kept everything tasteful. The supercharger in the hood looks awesome, but I would beg them to leave it at that. Those letters on the back of the car look like a 3rd grader was here. Make them Body color glossy, and then you would have something. Thanks.

@ 1:36, the factory supercharger on a C7 ZO6 is 1.7 liters. The upgrade was from a 1.7L to a 2.3L.

I have a 2016 Z51 with a supercharger it's a little more power than should have I've had it up to 120mph in 5 gear on the freeway and it wasn't close to redline with 2 more gears to go

Love to be ready to get a Calloway or Hennessy, Yenko Corvette...but need to start out a little slower (& less expensive!) however I’d be lying if I said I would never own or want one! If the right deal came along....

Mike: I’m considering a nice C6 for a sort of daily & project car. In that mind, comparing a stock or near stock Z06 vs. just a base model to start out, end result being something faster than a Z06, what do you think? I do need to say ride quality and street ability, drive ability are important. Maybe a HP goal of around 700 HP.

Grab a C6 Grand Sport, you get the best of both worlds. Looks and handling of the Z06 without the power. This way, all you have to do is power upgrades until you like the results. Perfect project Corvette IMO.

Well, here's another one of your visits that I have to give you a 👍👍's up! Two questions on this beast. Being that the "numbers" are so close to the C7 ZR1, do you, or Robert, have any "feel" as to how this Callaway would stack up against the ZR1? Second, if you really put foot your foot in it, does it "stick?" Or would one have to back off and quickly? With the exception of C8 of course, even though this an automatic, I'd certainly have to give this one a "think." Especially since, like the ZR's and C8's, it's a point and shoot car and having both hands on the wheel might just be tad necessary.😉 Save the Wave👋🏼

It was a great time driving that beast with Robert, I figured you would enjoy it. It’s gonna be a close race between the 2 if you’re talking straight line. If you’re talking road course, the ZR1 would eat it’s lunch because of all the extra downforce. It does stick quite nicely when you put your foot down. Yep, would own I one in auto or manual sure, but I’d rather this one be a manual.

Thank you Mike. Yes, I should have been more specific in my question, which was in fact meant to be in a straight line roll-on, or even a quarter mile from a dig. A road course I pretty thought would be a hands-down win for the ZR1. Like you, ultimately because the C7 is the end of an era 😢 with the engine in the front and the ability to have one with manual trans, the manual would be preferable for me as well. I was only giving it a second thought because of it's extra horsepower and that it came a reliable source - Callaway. Thanks again and enjoy your Memorial Day and may God Bless all of our Fallen.🙏

@@derekperkins4141 The stock blower on a C6 ZR1 is a 2.3L but Chevy downsized to a 1.7L on the C7 ZO6. They did it right on the C7 ZR1 with a 2.65L blower!
