Well, Glitch is technically the "professional-animation" channel of the SMG4 crew. "Colourful and zany while sometimes also heartfelt and/or horrifying" is what they've been doing for years. So this show combines their acumulated animation experience with what they're arguably the best at.

I think the Amazing Digital Circus is resonating more is because it is reviving that old classic zany cartoon type that has been missing *without also being shock humor*, mixing with the *dark nostalgia* trend going on, and the Isekai trend...but giving Isekai fans something different...like a different location other than some variation of a Swords and Sorcery world (especially those with game mechanics) but also leaning into the game theme, *which I would love to see an Isekai set in a horror game or sci-fi game, a world that obeys video game rules while being another genre *I love fantasy but the fantasy Isekai is kind of....burning out for me*, and someone being stuck in what feels like a 90s point and click adventure kid's game is incredibly creative and different.

There isn't a whole lot to go off of as of yet, but i'm curious to see where this goes... For all except the last quote, it seems to be in the perspective of the protagonist thinking back to the past. They don't explicitly say, but we know they believe something is after them. Whatever that something is, it has the power to manipulate even to the point where our protagonist doesn't trust the video call with their friend. They mention the conversation was very vague, which sounds to me like maybe this "entity" was trying it's best to try and simulate our protagonist's friend without having enough information to simulate them accurately, sticking to vague phrases and responses to not expose itself. Going to the last quote, we're no longer reading from the protagonist's point of view and it seems to be a more unbiased POV like reading a book. It's not explicit, but it implies that our protagonist is the patient now in a mental hospital, having gone insane from paranoia. It talks about the doctors nerve filaments and that they influenced his actions, which sounds very extremely important and I feel like this could be a huge part of the ARG. You see, Nerves are what connects your brain to the rest of your body. In science, they are believed to be the body's "electrical wiring" as your brain uses them to carry signals that allow us to perceive touch, temperature, pain, etc. There are like different kinds of nerves too, motor nerves that sends signals from your brain to your muscles and enabling movement, and there are also autonomic nerves which controls the stuff your body does on its own like your heat beating, breathing, and digestion. I can totally imagine that an entity that manipulates electricity is able to take over the human body via these nerves and affect what it's host feels and what they do. Can't wait to get more information down the road and see where this ARG goes, the concept seems really cool so far.

1st sighting: 0:49 Old webcam in closet while taking about Pomni's room 2nd sighting: 1:03 Discussing the inevitable void of Pomin's eyes while another message appears, this time with the narrator questioning the eeriness of the webcam call 3rd sighting: 7:17 During a zoomed in frame on the weird tape recorder. The narrator either believes themselves to be in some sort of simulation or their world is being manipulated by some other mechanical/electrical force. They question what they're seeing, if it's real, either referring to their to the manipulations or possibly psychosis. 4th sighting: Exactly at the 12:00 mark During the outro. This is the only transcript that is written in first person and also the only one in present tense, as well as the longest. A doctor is being forced to manipulate his patients while being puppeteered by some sort of nanotechnology. His job seems to be to convince his patients that they are completely normal and dismiss what they are seeing. He is reluctant, admiring the resilience of one in particular. This is very clearly reminiscent of the world of "I Have No Mouth and I Must Scream" although much more covert. The patients either have some form of psychosis that is allowing them to see the truth, or they are simply being gaslighted into believing they are psychotic. Whatever entity is pulling the strings is clearly in control, so I'm unsure why this is. Perhaps for the purpose of a simulation? Let me know if you have any theories or if I missed anything. Also, great reaction Zamber! Edit: "After all, a sane man would have fallen for the deception long ago." It appears my first theory was correct. How fascinating.

I used to do art in the same circles that Gooseworx did back in the deviantart days, and believe me, you are 100% right that the blur is content shovelware (and not like, uh, demonetized content). Gooseworx was pretty annoyed about it and this seems to be glitch’s way of nodding to that. Also knowing gooseworx’s history of animation there is 100% gonna be a minimum wage work surreal episode.

As I always say, every Western cartoon seems to need at least two of these three things to be considered complete (assuming it got cancelled or ended naturally): 1) A character swallowed whole/Fantastic Voyage plot 2) A (cisgender) male in drag/gender non-conforming clothing for an extended period of time 3) A main character at a minimum wage or cleaning job (that isn’t their normal line of work) for at least one-half of an episode. Ok. “Need” is a strong word, but am I incorrect in noticing how common those specific tropes are?

I will say, as much as I liked the pilot to this show (which I keep accidentally calling The Amazing World of Digital Circus), god I wish nearly any other cartoon could get even 1/3 of what this one has, a show that technically has not begun yet. There's literally been a discourse right now about how much companies hate making merchandise for any cartoon and don't want you to support anything. Wow supporting a show that has shown to have a fanbase, what a bold concept the people behind this show have discovered. Has anyone told Disney or Warner Bros about this innovative new idea?

7:32 hmm, “creative” I guess, doesn’t that thing look almost like the Gloink Queen thing from the pilot? It looks a lil different appearing to be made of candy but the relative shapes are almost the same. It could be partly because they’re reusing assets but make small changes to have basically another monster-of-the-week deal, but there might a lil something more to it. Presumably it’s Caine creating these worlds as he got worried of showing off that unfinished colosseum on accident, and so on he made the characters of those worlds. Caine prolly had to cut time in certain characters to build others so he clumsily took what WAS the Gloink Queen, redone the textures, and quickly made the candy monster so he can do more creative work like that Candy woman (or presumably Queen) 🤔
