There was another version of this infomercial for QRB with a woman named Myrna from the audience. I remember this, 25 years later, because I remember thinking "What a bizarre name Myrna is."
@brendapie824 жыл бұрын
I'm not sure if there was another version of this infomercial or another similar product but I remember that the infomercial was focused on the amazing antiques you could discover. I specifically remember they used the product to uncover a light colored wood table with a flower inlay. Was really hoping to see it in this video but maybe I'll get to see it again someday!

I ordered a QRB kit many years ago to refinish a vintage 1940's chest/dresser with 4 drawers I got at a thrift store for $85.00 that had a layer of brown paint and under that a layer of ivory or beige paint over really nice wood. QRB didn't work as easily or as quickly as shown in the commercials and there wasn't enough of the product to use on the whole dresser. I had to go to the hardware and buy regular chemical stripper to finish removing the paint. I don't remember if the one bottle of the finishing product was enough for the whole dresser or if I had to buy additional finish at the hardware store. I remember it was a lot of work and time. I still had to scrape and sand it. The chest/dresser turned out really nice but NO thanks to QRB. This was the one and only time I ever refinished a piece of furniture.
@Ajae783 жыл бұрын
I used to watch this infomercial repeatedly as a kid and even back then, I noticed the bottle was pretty small. Especially that doofy stain you were suppose to match yourself. You could only make one batch!
@jondstewart2 жыл бұрын
I know what you mean. I bought an old side table from the 1930s from a used furniture dealer wanting to refinish it and a crusty old man told me not to fall for those infomercials and just buy a Formby’s kit. Glad I did so. It didn’t turn out perfectly, but pretty decent.
