The more I observe the bobbit worm, the less scary it becomes. The way this little guy behaved suggests he's used to these feeding sessions since he was willing to venture out a little ways for the dead fish, but still actively checks his surroundings and retreats when he gets too anxious. Yeah, I wondered how it survives in the ocean, when it already struggles to grab a dead fish. But now I realized, that it struggles exactly because the fish is dead. The worm doesn't have eyes after all and has to rely on his sense of touch to know where the prey is and that only works when it's moving and creating waves.
