This version makes me miss my dad so much that I lost in 2016 to lung cancer. A proud Celtic American and a proud father, grandfather, and husband to my mother, he was one of the strongest people I knew. I miss him everyday. This song makes me feel like everything is ok now. No more pain. Yes there’s sorrow still knowing he’s gone, but there’s no more struggle or anguish. Thank you for this

I've heard this song a few times with Scottish pipes. Love the sound of them, this is my first listen on Irish's pipes. There's a magical sound that the Scott don't have.

This instrument truly amazes me. I’m a guitar player myself and listening to the way you “bend” notes on these pipes is beautifully baffling to me. Also, at times I can’t help but hear a similarity to Appalachian style fiddle. For example, right after you switched the drones on, I closed my eyes and a few phrases were indistinguishable from the fiddle! Love these videos, keep it up!

This is gorgeous. I've been obsessed with the Titanic score since I was 8 years old and no one could ever tell me what the main instrument was in the opening. IN LOVE with this sound and now I've found you I'm definitely going to think of a way to incorporate this into my music somehow haha

@@ChrisMcMullan at the end of the second stanza of the 2nd verse [its at the 2 min, 11 sec mark] there's 3 other harmonizing notes that go up while the main melody is played. Can you tell what this is and how its done. It seems that its something you did with your thumb of your right hand - the lower one. Cheers, Your Scots-Irish brother in Tennessee.

Bravo! Well done. For several years now, I have wished that some two artists, such as you, and perhaps a good arranger, would get together and create a duet of this piece done with the uilleann pipes and a resonator dobro. Properly arranged, I think the two instruments would complement each other quite well, especially on Amazing Grace. Am I wrong?

Hello Chris- your Scots-Irish brother in Tennessee here. Love your channel and I've ordered my set of Uilleann Pipes- can't wait to get them. In the 3rd verse, last note of the second stanza [its at 2:12 second mark and there's 3 other harmonizing notes that go up while the melody is held. For clarity- its the 3 notes that step up with the note on the last word in "grace my fears relieved". It seems its something with the thumb of your right hand. Is this done with drones or regulators or what? So beautiful. My father is a marine in the last stages of vascular dementia and we want to play this at the funeral. Loren Ozanne
