@@obj.071 Choral singing tradition in Latvia was introduced from Germany by Baltic Germans and spread to Latvians through Protestant church, especially Moravian Herrnhut Brethren movement. This is a North European choral tradition. Choral tradition of Russia what we usually understand with Eastern European singing was inspired by Orthodox/ Byzantian singing tradition. So there are quiet significant differences.
