Ok so correct me if I'm wrong, but the reason this works is because our eyes and the camera capture at a different FPS. So from our view, all the "frames" just get blended together, but the camera captures at a speed that you matched up with the wheel so that every x/360 degrees is synced with one frame, correct? I really like this illusion.

It's one of the coolest illusions on your channel but one of the easiest to figure out. The animations move at a faster rate than the human eye can see, but the camera can capture it.

I don't know if it has been mentioned but you just 'reinvented' the original zoetrope, kudos. The one with the 'contrarotating ' disks is uber cool.

I believe this illusion relies on the wagon-wheel effect. If you had a frame rate of 24 and and 30 "frames" and you wanted to know what RPM you should have on the turntable in order to get the effect of a movie, I think you could use this logic to understand the concept and get an answer: "If you want a stable movie effect, you want the "frames" to move one step between each frame the camera records. This means that 24 "frames" will elapse during one second. But since the effect relies on 30 "frames", the turntable only turns 24/30 of a rotation in one second. 24/30 RPS (rotations per second)*60=48 RPM." I'm quite a novice in using the wagon-wheel effect to create motion, but I think it works this way. I think the shutter speed only reduces blur, though.

@whitellie From what I know, he's controlling the amount of frames per second for us to see the animation. In reality, our eyes see frames per second probably at a higher (or may blower) rate so the animation doesn't work in reality. But with the camera, we see the animation as intended with the right frames per second. This is just an observational deduction though.

i know how this one works every videocamera takes a certain amount of pictures every second now there are different pictures of the objects on the rotating plate and the plate is moving faster (or slower) than the camera can follow so it always takes picture of a different Frame that lets us think that the objects are actually moving

Oh, the problem is that life.exe is probably corrupted. Search for logic.cfg and put it in your life exe folder, probably located in the UNIPLANE folder. As for the chucknorris.dll, don't bother with it. Only Chuck himself can fix that.

I'm curious what the point was of having the camera? The illusion of motion like this can be done without the use of it. Just adjusting the speed of the turntable will still show the motion. Besides, it's how cartoons were originally created.
