I like you guys. I’m very impressed that y’all got up to Nevada Falls and for keeping it real with everyone. So proud of y’all. I’m a small guy so it’s slightly different for me. I did the four mile trail to glacier point and then to sentinel dome yesterday, but that was extremely painful. But the views were worth it. Your knees do take a beating on the way down though.

Hi Penny, we thought we replied to you months ago. We truly apologize for not responding. We have not hiked the Four Mile yet, we kind of intimated as we heard that trail is hard to hike. We sort of stop hiking for months now as Daniel is currently getting rehab for his Achilles. We hope we can hike soon again. We miss being on the trail.

Thank you so much, Javad. That's what we had in our minds, if we can do it, anyone can do it pretty much. We saw old people and littles making it to the top also.

Congratulations. I was there in Mid May and wasn't able to make it all the way to Nevada Falls came back on the JMT rather than try to do the steep steeps up to Vernal. Turns out if I had pushed onto Nevada Falls I would have been in trouble! It was dark by the time I made it back down to Happy Isles. While the JMT is longer I would recommend it as the easier way down from both falls. Be sure if you aren't in great shape like me that you start early so you have plenty of time for stops to catch your breath!
@TheWorldCruisers Жыл бұрын
Hi Mel, it honestly took us 10 hours to finish this trail. We probably stopped for about 30 times because we are both out of shape. During our hike, we couldn’t take the JMT because it was blocked with big fallen rocks, so we didn’t had a choice but to take the Vernal trail back to the trailhead.

how long/difficult was it to get to the point at the base of the falls (approx 3:45 in video)? i want to take my mom here and at least see the falls and and want to check on difficulty :)
@TheWorldCruisers Жыл бұрын
Going to the base of the falls is slightly moderate, but it is manageable by most. We have seen a lot of older people making it to the base. You just have to take note that it is slippery in that area due to the mist of the falls.

You aren't in that bad of shape!!! You made it! I did Vernal Falls like 12 years ago, and that was the toughest hike my chub body has ever done! Worth every step though. Love your video!
@TheWorldCruisers2 жыл бұрын
Aww Celia, thank you. How was the falls 12 years ago? Was it crowded too? I notice the trail has less people around sunset, except for the 1st bridge where most people go if they don't want to hike all the way to the falls. - Maria

Nice Video. What months should I visit to see this large amount of water from both waterfalls?

Hi Yok, we hiked this in April and the water was really good. So around March and April are the best time to visit this trail I would say. (Maria)

I did this a couple of years ago with friends. This video shows the walk up to the top of Nevada, but you still have to go down to the valley!!! ...we took the Muir trail, and it was very long. One friend sprained his ankle about the time we reached the bottom of Vernal Falls, and I sprinted ahead down to make sure that the last Valley tram would wait for us or at least someone could radio a ranger or something. All ended up just fine, but if you're going up to the Nevada falls, do not go alone. And make sure you have your phone (protected from the water) and food and ...yes, enjoy the beauty and be thankful for Yosemite. P.S. Wear the right shoes, women!! I have gone up to the top of Vernal a couple of times and I swear there are women wearing high heels thinking it's a ride at Disney World. It's the wilderness, people. Be sane and safe.
@TheWorldCruisers Жыл бұрын
I think the Muir Trail is harder and longer? And I truly agree that no one should hike there alone as it can get quite dangerous specially when it is raining. And true about wearing the right shoes. What is your favorite trail in Yosemite, Mary? - (Maria)
@marysheeran519 Жыл бұрын
@@TheWorldCruisers Hard to pick a favorite. Sometimes I just walk over to the meadow by Half Dome and stand in its presence (usually in the morning). I do love to go up to the top of Vernal Falls with friends and watch the rainbows. And walking around Lake Tioga and ... early morning walks to hear the birds. I'm looking forward to getting back to the park this spring after not being there for several years!

Hi Carlos, we are slow hikers so it took us 10 hours to finish this hike. Plus we took a bunch of photos and videos, that made the hike longer. But the other hikers finished this trail for only 4 hours.
