Since this video was made, there has been a change in traffic. The CSX now sees more trains than the NS, as the NS has about 24 trains a day and the CSX sees up towards 40. I've been to Romulus twice. The first time, an autorack had to stop for another autorack to come through town, then the 2nd autorack had to wait for manifest (all on CSX). During this whole time there was not an NS train. The second time, an autorack had to wait for another autorack on the CSX, with no action on NS. Is the NS losing customers on the line?

CSX does not see close to 40 trains on this line, 20 would be a good day. NS is not losing customers it just depends on the time of day mostly.

Really? What time of day is the best for NS? And I guess I was just there on the CSX at the right time of day. I was averaging the trains per day off of what I have seen on the NS in Milan and one hour on the CSX in Romulus.

The NS Wabash sees around 20 a day based on a 24 hour count that my friend has done in the past. CSX is busiest around lunch time or mid evening, normally it is autorack moves between Detroit and New Boston.

Okay, I can see that. Most of the times I have been in Romulus were in the two times you mentioned, (lunch time and mid evening) so making an average of the NS and CSX trains per day based off of a busy time on the CSX makes my averages very inaccurate. I am sorry for my very dumb comment I made earlier.

Great video. Went down there four a few hours and caught about five trains which wasn't too bad. Just a quick question though. You said that the NS line is called the Wabash route by some, is there another name for it that you know of?

Boatwatching 14 it is technically the Norfolk Southern Detroit District, however it is often called the Wabash because it is the old Wabash mainline from Detroit to St. Louis
