Nathu Lal Solanki ... Master Drummer of Pushkar, Rajasthan... The place in the video is a small Temple beside The Holy Pushkar Lake... Nathu puts the drums out at Sunset and anyone can come and play with him for free.... He'll have you banging out the beats in no time ... All round amazing guy XX

Your lively platform should also look out to incorporate the following Indian drums as well .. KHOL from Bengal & Manipur, Dholak from Uttar Pradesh to Rajasthan & the state of Maharashtra, Dhol, Dholki & Naal of Punjab, Mridangam from Tamil Nadu & Kerala, Dhap / Dafli from Rajasthan, Dugduggi from Bengal, Kanjira in Rajasthan, and which goes by a different name in the southern states of Tamil Nadu. Then, you have the Chenda drum of Kerala, that can drive a person mad, it creates such a racket. Its contemporary from the north is the TASHA, from Uttar Pradesh & Maharashtra. Please also look out for one of the most ancient of Indian percussion instruments, the Pakhawaj of Central India, which is perhaps the north Indian version of the Mridangam. The other extremely ancient percussion instrument that compares with both the Mridangam / Pakhawaj is the DUMROO .. all three are associated directly with God SHIVA! I am NOT including the Tabla & Duggi here (which are probably one the most popular instruments in India, as they did NOT originate in India .. probably are a Turkish import! One of the best & fortunately recorded performances of it are by Maestro (Ustad) Ahmed Jan Thirakwa. Good Luck !

It isn't meant to be condescending or have to do with America vs. India - marching snare has very COMPLEX rudiments, chops, and time signatures involved; so I meant that he is playing at a level above the western way of "chops", seems you don't even know what chops are. I was more so comparing styles of playing.
