Thanks Dan, I really enjoy the way you video the agates you find it helps learn to eye them. I like to find them before you pick them up. I would be interested in a rock hunting tour of course next season. Love how you thank God then you find a good one. God bless and happy rock hunting.

Hi 123, thank you for the nice comment...I'm going to be filming the agates longer in the host rocks and longer in my hands...I can make some definite improvements in that area...that's for sure...but thank you so much for coming along! I would love to go out next season...stay tooned...if the Lord puts it together I will be taking my kids out tomorrow morning for an agate hunt...very excited....I need to pray about more first!👍

Thank you Dan, I am always pulling for you to get some beautiful big banded beauties! I grew up on LSA hunting with my parents. We used to camp at Trudgen’s campground, which is now gone. I have to tell you, I have my third bout of COVID right now, and these videos have saved my sanity!!! Thank you so much for doing so many slow pans and beach walks. Even hearing the waves help me, such a familiar sound. I also appreciate your faith Dan, and your prayers. I feel so thankful to be on your rockhunts with you! Ever go to gravel pits? I know access is close to impossible to pits, but man, some nice agates in pits along the Mississippi!!! Now they are restricted, so I am glad I hunted there while I could. Very cool bear story, Dan. I worked in a private zoo and raised a bear, and some deer. The experiences have changed me forever! Love your love of nature, and telling us about your experiences! Rock on Dan! Keep posting!! 😊. AND just when I was thinking to myself that you should do guided agate tours for people to learn and find agates, you mentioned it!!! What a wonderful idea!!! I think you should do that, and you would influence little kids to love rocks too!

You're so welcome Wyatt...I will certainly pray for you in regards to the illness...my kids and I pray nightly for many battling sickness....it allows God to act ...it allows us to connect to Him...it allows Him the opportunity to heal and we believe that 100 percent! As for the gravel pits...yes, I have years ago...the ones I got into have been restricted like you said...the agates we're always plentiful yet lack the water washed beauty of our Lakers. I have two jars with gravel pit agates that I will show sometime in the future. But the jars lack in comparison to our Lakers. Thank you for sharing about your zoo time...it's so special to connect with animals...I've connected my whole life. Anyway, you will be in our prayers and if you could say a prayer the Lord opens the door for me to get a new vehicle! It will be difficult to make future videos without one! Thank you for being so supportive of our channel,!

Thank you for your prayers Dan, I am Carol, Wyatt’s mom. I use his Google sign in b’cause I have to make my own, and I don’t know how!! I will pray for you that you will be able to get a new vehicle soon, so you can enjoy God’s beautiful outdoors, and we can all enjoy through you! Did you get to go to Two Rivers on the side by side???!! Hoping you did. Rock on Dan!!! Keep the vids coming!

@@janiebennett5645 hi there, thank you for finding us! I only heard that term one other time...we've always called them lucky stones. Thank you for pointing that out. Most of my agates go into jars...I've built 11 or so since I was young. The bigger better ones go on a shelf. I've also given many gems away to friends, family and random people I meet out on the beach. I'm releasing a video in a few days where I talk about my past rockhounding avenues other than agates and more about my agate collection and the new direction I'm wanting to go with it. I also show my huge collection of hole stones and the conclusions I have come to collecting rocks in general...there will be a new chapter in my life (for the better) pursuing agates!

Hey, you gave me a shout out. Thanks. I always chuckle. You say it's not a great day and yet you found some beautiful agates. I've watched other channels and they don't find them as well as you do. You're so committed to agates you ended up in the lake even though you said you wouldn't several times. That's commitment. Rockhounding is addictive in the best way possible. Gotta listen to your wife. She's been generous especially when you have family commitments. Thanks for sharing more stories. I live in a city and miss those wide open spaces. Enjoyed today's post. Thanks 🙏. Rachelle, Australia

@@upperpeninsulabeautiful Do you do metal detecting? If so, you should do a video of metal detecting around that old log cabin. Warning: Combining metal detecting with surface hunting for Indian artifacts, marbles, and buttons are also addictive!
@upperpeninsulabeautiful
@upperpeninsulabeautiful 10 ай бұрын
Hey Jim, so I borrowed a metal detector from a friend a couple weeks ago...you've got some great ideas...metal detecting areas of the UP could be a neat addition. Many years ago I went to the western UP in search of float copper. Was an awesome trip...despite the lack of float copper I found. That said, Upper Peninsula Beautiful is more than just agates. I would certainly like to incorporate some other things like you mentioned. I looked for native American artifacts while down in Arkansas digging diamonds. It is addictive. Thank you for the suggestions...however until I can locate another vehicle within my means, my traveling videos are on hold...but keep an eye out for my first guided agate hunt I filmed yesterday...I believe it's the best video I've filmed yet...it was so exciting! Thank you for being a viewer with awesome suggestions,!

@upperpeninsulabeautiful agreed! I'm hoping to get up there at least once more. You mentioned flashlight re: agates while yooper searching. Do regular flashlights make it easier to spot them vs. daylight hunting? I never thought to use a regular flashlight at dark. But honestly I'd rather find agates than yooper rocks.... much prettier.
@upperpeninsulabeautiful
@upperpeninsulabeautiful 10 ай бұрын
@@joolzbohr I've used flashlights for night agate hunting in gravel pits in Minnesota. An agate will glow if the light shines right on it. But it is still infinitely easier to find a beach agate during the day. An agate doesn't at all show with a blacklight for hunting yooperlites. Keep me posted if you're thinking of making the trip up...I can give you my prediction of the beach conditions!

Just my wife myself and my granddaughter (every rock is a pretty rock to her) she’s 4. My bucket usually weighs about 50 lbs in 30 minutes thanks to her. She puts them in, I throw them out when she’s not looking 😂Anyway love that you do this with the family too.

I was camping at Two Hearted River campground when that wind storm started. The wind ripped some of my tarp stakes out of the ground so I grabbed my blankets and slept in my car. Keep up the great videos!
