Not enough Nasi Dagang and Laksam in Kelantan eh...
@rizlanghazali9857 жыл бұрын
Someone should mention it to you by now that the Kelantanese are a business driven community hence you find many businesses including those outside Kelantan operated by them...
@rizlanghazali9857 жыл бұрын
If the Nasi Dagang is made of Brown rice with the bran then is is for sure a Kelantanese version.. If the Rice is white especially if it made of Thai Fragrant Rice Variety With the addition of some Glutinous Rice then it more likely originates in recipe from the East Coast State of Terengganu...

Super nice local subscribers indeed! Love sardines - fresh grilled or tinned in oil, does not matter. And they're so healthy for you as well. I'm quite sure I would love the laksam. Another terrific video, guys! As for food adventure days, ummmmm, yup. In the middle of a Paris trip, took a break from all the sites and spent 12 hours visiting six of *_Ernest Hemingway's_* regular cafes and restaurants. 150 yo iconic eateries serving up delicious coffee, tarts, bread, cheese, oysters, mussels, fish, wine. In addition to the food experience, there's so much history and beautiful architecture that they're like living museums to me. 👍

finally! you guys managed to try laksam! btw, if you guys are going to terengganu, other then trying the most popular keropok lekor, nasi dagang, nasi minyak, ayam percik, and fried seafood there, please try laksa terengganu as well. in which there are two types of laksa terengganu, laksa kuah masak (red gravy) & laksa kuah putih ( white gravy- it taste about the same as laksam but they just use different types of noodles.). these laksa i mention wasn’t popular even to other malaysian. but i know it taste good. my favs is laksa kuah masak. other than that, you can also try air gelas besar/air gelas bapak at bukit besar (bapak = big in terengganu dialect) . they serve a very big size of juices. you also need to try the nasi lemak in terengganu, its a bit different than normal nasi lemak u’ve tried. the sambal is a much sweeter & they always serve it with tuna. make sure you try the satar, paih and pulut lepa. the best ones are in kemaman, terengganu. oh, if you’re keen to try exotic turtle egg, they do sell it in pasar kedai payang (the biggest market in terengganu) and there are a lot of different kuihs in the market as well! please have a try on all of them. haha near pasar kedai payang, there are boat services to different island i mentioned in my other comments. i hope you will enjoy terengganu as much as i love being there each time i’m visiting my late gandma when i was a lil girl. can’t wait for your terengganu videos! one of the best place in malaysia for me.

Hi Syafique Sharif 😄 That pajeri nanas was mouthwatering. We can't wait to eat more of it. We will definitely be spending more time in Shah Alam in the future- what a food haven it is. The necklace I'm wearing is pounamu or NZ greenstone. It's a Maori pendant I wear as a proud symbol of my country 😀 Thanks for watching and for commenting bro. Cheers, Thomas

Oh my... That laksam look sooo awesome! One of my fav too. It's difficult to find good laksam near my place. When the aunty cut the laksam it looks so soft... So must be good! I must go on food hunting to Shah Alam too. The bubur pulut hitam my fav too. It is best eaten with thick coconut milk cream/santan (bit of salt added). Pour a bit over the pulut n mix it. Ask for the santan next time u hv bubur pulut hitam. Enjoy yr JJCM.

Hi mate, it was top notch. Even though it was the first time we'd tried the dish I could tell from the smoothness and the slipperiness of the noodles that it was a great one!! Thanks so much for that tip for the bubur- sounds well worth a go! Thanks for watching and commenting. Cheers, Sheena 😄

Hi Sheena! "Daun kesum" is called Vietnamese mint in English. It is an essential ingredient in making different types of Malaysian laksas. I remember I tried to find daun kesum to cook laksa Johor in Dunedin and I couldn't find it at any supermarket or Asian shops. Guess what? I finally found daun kesum at Mitre 10, at their garden section LOL!!! Imagine shopping for your kitchen ingredient at a hardware store!
@ChasingaPlate7 жыл бұрын
😂😂😂😂 this is the funniest story Wan Salim! Mitre 10! Glad you eventually found it though mate. Do you have to get your fix of Malaysian food by cooking most of it yourself or are there good Malaysian restaurants around? Thanks so much for watching this one and for taking the time to comment 😄 Cheers, Sheena
@wansalim80547 жыл бұрын
Chasing a Plate - Food and Travel Channel Hi Sheena! There are a few good Malaysian restaurants in Auckland and Wellington. Dunedin, being a small city, does not have much choice of Malaysian restaurants. The two distinct ones are KL Aroma and Madam Woo. They both have some good dishes and some dishes that are plain mediocre. Madam Woo is owned by the celebrity chef Josh Emmett, so he keeps up some standard, but the dishes seem a bit too pricey for something that I could easily cook myself at home. Growing up in a family of cooks in Malaysia, I mostly enjoy home-cooked food. Give me a buzz if you visit Dunedin sometime! 😀 Cheers, Wan.
@ChasingaPlate7 жыл бұрын
Ahhh yes we visited Madam Woo the last time we were in Queenstown Wan but it was a little $$$. I bet your home cooking is just as good if not better!!! 😋 We'll definitely give you a buzz if we're down your way! 😄 Hope you're having a great Sunday Wan. Cheers, Sheena

In Shah Alam... try a restaurant called Padangs on Wheels in Section 13... it serves a typical West Sumatera (Nasi Padang) cuisine and their cooks are also from Padang... the chilli dishes will blow your head off... although they have toned down their chilli somewhat to suit local tastes... The people of Negeri Sembilan largely have roots originating from Padang...
