Thanks for an awesome video ! I'm the dad from the father/son team that designed this if anyone has any questions :-) edit: Levi and I are truly humbled by the power of this community. We are now potentially on a trajectory to reach 10k supporters in the little time we have left, directly due to the support from Jason and viewers of this video. It is safe to say this would not even be possible otherwise. Time will tell, and every supporter matters at this point, so thanks to each of you for being a part of this amazing journey! edit 2: we made it to 10k! Thank you!

Imagine this whole assembly as a GBC module and the truck as part of some automated train system. Full-auto re/cycling!
@eliotlong51843 жыл бұрын
This is actually a similar concept to a gbc mechanism where a lift arm does nothing until a ball falls into, when it lifts it up and deposits it in a similar fashion. It works with a piston though, not a bevel gear.
@BerthilvanBeek3 жыл бұрын
Yes, it's the Akiyuki 'stuck ball' GBC, also came to my mind when looking at the garbage truck video, very nice compact design and function in the truck. kzbin.info/www/bejne/anvIeXqAf7SFqKs

No disrespect to Jason but this truck is exactly the type of thing that Lego Ideas should be about. A simple easy build designed by a father and son. Not some massive kit that costs a fortune. I know some of the Ideas sets have been fairly simple i just feel we need more of this type. And yes before anyone asks I supported this project shortly after it went up. Perhaps Lego should consider categories for under 500 brick builds?
