Okay, having built this, let me try to add some tech notes. You need the exact sound sensor shown (Analog Sound Sensor V2). I have a fistful of lookalikes, but I guess they aren’t analog. A wrong sensor gives you crazy results. What are the knobs for? As far as I can tell, one it sensitivity, and one is intensity. That’s how they seem to work. The video shows what I believe is a mistake, around pins 27 and 29. 27 is the 5v out, and 29 is the ground, The video seems to show attaching to neighboring pins. As I was narrowing down my errors, I found one of my pots wasn’t actually giving consistent or expected resistance. Otherwise, nice project. Thanks Easy Tech.

Hello, It is an interesting project but there are two problems. First in your schematic Vin, GND, Reset, +5V, A3 to A7 pins are connected together. Second, I tried to load the sketch in Arduino version 1.8.1.2, but I received two errors :" Could not create the sketch" and "File name RGB VU meter.ino is invalid: ignored". It is a problem with the .ino file . I tried to load the program with two different computers with Win 7 and Win 10 and the errors are the same. I need some advices to load the sketch. The pixels are 0.7 watts each. Add up the total watts of pixels used. Watts divided by Volts = Amps Pixels come in different spacing so they are not all created equal. One of his pots is the brightness. He had the room lights on when he adjusted it.

How many LEDs can I connect to that mini arduino chip? My intention is to make a 1.7mx 1.3m curtain, there would be 33 lines of 75 LEDs each, with a total of 2,475 LEDs and that do exactly the same as in your video, or what chip can you recommend that I can handle and do same?

I think this video is fake and I wasted my time watching the damn thing. Although, in regards to your maximum number LEDs question. Here is how to figure it at maximum rate. First you need to know your arduino boards maximum current capability. Each led in the pixel can handle 20 ma. So each RGB pixel will pull 60 ma at max (.60) will be used to calculate it correctly. Anyway each RGB bulb pulls 60ma so just multiply it by the number of pixels to be sure. Usually they can handle about 30 of them. Thats the case for my Nodemcu esp8266. And its been on for several weeks now running all the fast led shows. Adios Amigos Its beer thirty. This video is fake as shit man

If you want to correct someone make sure you do it right, he used addressable RGB LED strip, saying that it's addressable LED is wrong as they come in various colors. Maybe it's better if you don't "just comment" or change your name...

Yeah I almost fell for this corrupt video myself. The wiring diagram is wrong. The mic is reversed too. The code is 908 and will not compile because the .ino file does not exist. I heard the code was ripped off from Cine-lights. I so wish it was real because I have been searching for detailed instructions to make my led addressable strip beat to the music and rotate through the patterns of fastled or adafruit. If you find any useful videos let me know. I never thought about this code being fixed but damn 908 lines. peace man
