Thank you Cristian, you're real as shit. I use to read a lot of these negative post online and it hindered my development. I now realize these people are shit and are in over there heads. You need to put the work in and be exceptional, no excuses or loser mentality.

@@cristian-florea-codingdo portfolios actually matter? Like do people actually look at them? For example recruiters at small startups may do so but I am not sure about others. What are your thoughts on this?

Hey Cristian, thanks for the great advise, I have to admit, I'm struggling with some of these problems, specially the not building things. I have to share my situation, currently I'm in a lack of "creativity" burn out, I made my portfolio, I put two projects in there but now the third project, I want to do something really big, but the problem is, it's so hard for me the main feature of the app that I got stuck. I have some ideas, but probably I have to pay someone who understands about machine learning to train a model specifically for my project. There's no easy API somewhere so I can use for my project, and that's great I think, but at the same time it's way harder.

What are you exactly expecting of someone like him? I see a lot of unguided criticism. Is he supposed to spend years on the projects for the portfolio? Is he supposed to get a CS degree?

Build an app? Instead of a few lines of code and calling it a day?

@@cristian-florea-coding So he could do exactly the same amount of product and show it as an app, and you would value it much more than what he has at the moment? You're adding another layer of client behavior by forcing them to install an app to show them what you know, and if what he did is all he knows, then his portfolio is more than enough. Is it good? Depends on the job.

@bazooka712 I’m talking about making something more complex than one day worth of work. This is seriously unimpressive… at least for 2024 standards, in 2015, this would be cool

@@bazooka712 Clearly if he isn't getting hired, he's doing something wrong. Employers are unimpressed. You either evolve by making more complex apps or get left behind. It is what it is.

@@thelonercoder5816 If he is applying for an engineer level, then I'd say that is correct, but if he is going for a programmer route then its totally acceptable. The majority of work positions don't need someone that can do full stack development.
