Yup, almost all Malay kueh are sweet, tasty & tempting. Normally u can get these kueh in the evening, we treat it as evening snacks, our tea time. While in d morning also have few but limited b'coz M'sian breakfast already heavy. some state has their own special kueh which u can't get it in KL city. We M'sian, we enjoy variety taste of foodie b'coz we multiracial country. thats what make us unique & exotic. *wink*

i never get bored with malaysian's sweet kuih. They make my day the sweetest whenever I feel down. did anyone tell you that Malaysia have this kind of event once in 2 years where which the stalls will sell many kind of foods, viral pastries and local products? its is called MAHA 2018. its kind of like one stop centre of states(14 states of Malaysia) foods. All foods are gathered and your eyes and nose will bring u there! lol. i went there twice, and absolutely i had my sweetest whole day long! the event ended yesterday but it will be held again in 2 years time. there are more similar events, wht u have to do is to visit Malaysia tourism webpage or ask the locals. have fun! 😀😀

Eileen.... I love.. love.... love your videos. Especially your infectious laughter. This by far is the most accurate video describing those malay kuih- muih done by a non local youtuber. Watching this makes me straighy away wanna booked airtix back to my hometown 😁 BTW, Apam Balik in Sabah is usually known as Terang Bulan (Terang = Bright; Bulan = Moon). Maybe named due to it's round yellowish moon look alike. It's a bit different compared to those crispier ones in west malaysia. N'way, keep making those amazing video. I'm a fan!

Yeah, those donuts are delicious. To me, they are more satisfying than commercialised donuts like Dunkin Donuts etc. But I have to dust off most of the sugar first or else they are going to be too sweet :)

You should definitely try Buah Melaka/Onde-onde. Good Buah Melaka will pop in your mouth with sweet palm sugar syrup. It is a surprise dessert for people who unaware of its existence.

If a dessert is something you eat after a meal, than a kuih is more like a snack to us. We usually eat them at teatime and for breakfast. Ice kacang is a dessert, kuih karipap and pisang goreng are snacks.

Do you go to these places with a guide. Because every market we go to it's almost impossible to know what you are buying.

I think you would have loved kek lapis pandan if you would have tried it.....It's a Dutch/Indonesian cake ( lapis legit/spekkoek) like thing from origin, but it has spread its wings all across Oceania. Most of these deserts I know and love, but the on I love the most would be kuih sawalla...the taste is so very Asian, but the density is so very out of this world....actually: one of these may last you a few hours. Thank you so much for this very delicious video and all your other Malaysian videos!
