N64 Rainbow Road is my personal favorite Rainbow Road, mostly cuz I miss the times where I played MK64 and the music is beautiful. But having it just be 2 laps in this game makes it perfect, exactly what it should’ve been in MK8D

Damn for the most part these recreations look really good, especially for the DS' limitations. Also neat to see the older ones from Super Mario Kart given Mario Kart 8 style remakes rather than the more basic ports from the DS and Wii versions; they actually made Bowser Castle 1 feel like a castle and Choco Island 1 feel Super Mario World themed this time around.

The craziest ones were definitely SNES Choco Island 1 and SNES Bowser Castle 1 because it's weird to see those tracks actually being improved on and made slightly more interesting

Because of the similarities in power between the N64 and DS these N64 tracks work really well in MKDS

I have an idea. Instead of the mk8 courses being under Wii U, how about being labeled under UNS. For example, "UNS Mario Kart Stadium" instead of "Wii U Mario Kart Stadium". The U part is for Wii U, and the NS part is for Nintendo Switch because Mario Kart 8 takes place on both the Wii U and the Nintendo Switch. Let's spread the word to all Mario Kart fans!

Yes. It is confusing lol when it comes to custom tracks, a retro track is any track that is not from the current game. Wii Toads Factory is technically a “retro” track if it was made for MKDS. This only implies to custom tracks though.
