It’s absolutely beautiful! Holy heck! You even upgraded the already existing GCN racetracks, and even remade the original hazards like Daisy Cruiser’s moving tables and other dinosaurs at Dino Dino Jungle, recreated the Double Dash vehicles plus original ones, alternate versions to the racetracks, as well as replaced the Bullet Bill with a Chain Chomp with its proper animations, you’re amazing! I wanna play! I hope reverse racetracks become a thing in the main Mario Kart, and making them alternate versions with different ambience sounds cooler than just the same track, but with the path reversed and some extras to allow the path to be crossed from behind

It's nice to see Mario Kart Double Dash remade on a console more people are likely to have. Not a lot of modern folks own Double Dash due to the availability of the GameCube these days and Nintendo removing GameCube support on modern Wii consoles back in 2011. Also, I like the music on the remixed Mushroom Bridge and City. Just gives the overall nighttime/dusk vibe. 👍

The baseline actually uses some of Toad’s Turnpike’s theme which just adds to the theme and makes way to much sense in surprised I never thought of it

@@jytvreal no custom music because they haven't yet found out how to add more music tracks. Music in mkds works differently to most other ds games. As for being 'poorly made', it's the only hack to have extra cups and player slots - besides the fact it's fanmade

Fun fact: GCN Mario circuit was originally going to be a retro track in Mario kart DS, but it was ultimately scrapped. They did use it for the next game in the series, Mario kart wii though.

Nintendo in 2004-2005: Mario Kart DS originally was going to be similar to Double Dash, items and all, but Nintendo decided to make a fresh experience. MarioPower55 in 2022: **Hold my mushrooms**

the attention to detail in the creation of this is just stunning. even the smallest of sound effects is changed to match the original; like the item boxes breaking and the red shells getting near a player just make this mod feel so much like Double Dash.

There is one time I had this dream I was playing GCN Waluigi Stadium in Mario Kart DS even though it doesn't exist in the official game. I remember it being scaled down with less polygons and fewer boost panels like how all the gamecube tracks were in the real game. I was blown away when I saw Waluigi Stadium recreated for this Mario Kart DS hack because it looked exactly how it looked in my dream! No joke!

This is crazy good Pre-existing tracks got nice little remixes, the map backgrounds r nice & I love how the devs went abt approaching reverse tracks by giving them new coats of paint & songs/remixes… some songs don’t fit like the circuit theme in Dry Dry Desert R & that track’s theme sounds like a placeholder in Dino Dino Jungle but I’m sure that’ll get sorted out & get rly nice remixes like the other reverse tracks have! Warms my Double Dash-loving heart… can’t wait for the full release!

It be so awesome if Mario Kart games for portable-systems were made as handheld-versions of their previous-generation's tv-console counterparts! Super Circuit actually was almost a GBA version of Mario Kart 64, and Nintendo's Handheld/Portable platforms are typically two generations behind their TV-Console counterparts anyway, so a 1-generational gap between two counterpart'd Mario Kart games should definitely be convenient enough.
