Great layout ! And a lot of the spirit of John Allen. Sad it has to go but as a friend to me pointed out , think about all the happy hours that layout has given its owner over the years ! Thanks for a nice video !

Wow! That's an awesome railroad layout, went to the website and enjoyed all the pics and videos, sad to hear that it will be dismantled, hopefully it will all go to a good home. Thanks for sharing. -Randy

You would think some Railroad Museum would be interested in this. I was in model railroading for years but I was an operator not a modeler there's a big difference. All the work that went into this. Only a few people can appreciate what he's done what he's accomplished

One of the nicest layouts I've ever seen. Thanks for posting. I'm planning a new layout for a large basement. Is there a track plan for this?

this is just stunning. this is one of the best layouts out there. the colours make such a big difference in atmosphere and the well built scenery just makes it a #1 It´s actually sad that he wants to sell all this. but someday, everything has come to an end. Hope it gets a new owner that loves it just as much as he did.

This is so incredible and sad at the same time I hate seeing years of work broken up. But such a skilled modeler.

Yeah me too. I am sure it’s heart breaking to see all those years of work and love for the hobby being slowly erased. I can only image how that must feel.

How much do You want For This Layout? And all the rolling stock and engines Please
@SkipW5 жыл бұрын
It is a piece of art that took a lifetime to create, but it needs to be removed by the end of this year (2019) so at this time it is all offers considered. Look at the links of the layout yampavalleyrailroad.wordpress.com/galleries/introduction/ it is huge, I think 10,000 would be a lowball offer

Fantastic layout (kingdom)! Do the engines and rolling stock come with the layout? I love those home made turnouts and controls.

It’s a beautiful layout but if you want to sell something like this you have to give the details. Where is it, what are the dimensions, what scale, what’s included and how much?

I just wondering is the layout and everything still there as of 2024

I will be curious to see how much this layout is for sale for. Thousands of dollars here and thousands of hours... I am just starting to build my HO layout. I am overwhelmed as to where to start and hours of working things out in my mind. Is the layout being sold as a group or individual pieces at a time?

Astonishing and a little sad at the same time. It brings home the reality of the finite nature of our creation and it's fate after we are gone. This gentleman, like many before I suppose, had the fore-sight to dispose as h saw fit, rather than the usual, um you know, by relatives wanting a quick buck, not caring for the love and devotion that has gone into its creation over an extended period of time.
@adriengadson35445 жыл бұрын
Those ppl can take the quick bucks. There are a lot of modelers and model railroaders that buy them and make great layouts with them. Most ppl who buy take care of the departed layouts and parts.

Yes I have several pieces that will be installed on my layout to enjoy for years to come. Several pieces from hobbiest whom were featured in Model Railroading magazine. I have acquired a few “famous” pieces. They will continue to be part of a large layout to be enjoyed for decades I hope. (Hoping I will live many more decades).

@@thefutureofyesterday8136 Please accept apologies for any discomfort, I mean't no disrespect, its just I often hear of beautiful layouts being broken up and lost for greed. People like yourself strive to save beautiful pieces for the future. Perhaps one day you may care to show what you have done and illustrate how these pieces were incorporated into your layout. I, for one, am intrigued and am interested to see the results.
@thefutureofyesterday81365 жыл бұрын
Paul Smith oh no Paul I honestly knew what you meant by your original post. I am not offended or anything at all. What you said is very true about the family moving out ones collection for the mighty dollar. However, if they are not into the hobby I can understand why they do this. It’s truly beneficial to all parties. The family cashes in and the buyer keeps the item living on. I would be curious to know how many years a person or persons kept a piece of a layout displayed to enjoy. That’s a answer I will never have but it does peak ones curiousity.
