I ran this fluid head since April on several varieties of hunts. Camera setup was a Sony A7Siii with Tamron 35-150mm lens, all in weighing 4.8lbs. The first hunt I ran with this fluid head was a turkey hunt in which I ran it on a monopod tripod. The issue I had while running and gunning (and tightening the quick attach plate as tight as it would go) it would work itself loose which caused my camera to fall off the fluid head and onto the ground while walking. During deer season, I ran this fluid head on a camera arm and observed this fluid head was very catchy when panning and not very smooth. The knobs for both vertical and horizontal panning we’re very touchy and often too tight to pan, or too lose causing the camera to dip or swing….without much room to play with. It was a super light and packable fluid head, which was awesome. After running it all year I don’t know that I would use it for videography. It’s good enough to do the job, but lacks the smoothness for panning and is very touchy in adjusting the panning tension. Maybe on a light camera rig it would work fine, but I spoke with one of the customer service reps prior to buying (who was awesome) about the setup I planned to run and he confirmed the head should handle the camera rig without issue. For spotting scopes or binos I’d say it be an awesome rig, filming….depending on your expectations from your footage, probably not the best. Good not great filming fluid head. Just my own observations from using it this year.

Cool, what’s the best less pricey fluid head for spotting scopes? How big of a difference does the head make? Idk if it’s similar to a rifle (tripod) and glass (fluid head) when it comes to spotting scopes or if ya really don’t need to spend as much on a head

The head makes a big difference. We think our head is very competitively priced. There are many on the market that cost 4x more than the Nano Pro. Fluid heads are the smoothest type of tripod head and it makes a big difference, especially with a Spotting Scope!
