Yes! That's what I was thinking too, people from the U.S.A. and Canada are used to large homes, so what is tiny for them is perfectly scaled for the rest of the world.
@styxxx7773 жыл бұрын
Exactly...for Europeans this is absolutely normal size...I really didn´t get those comments on everything being too small :-D It´s absolutely normal and also filling house only with big home decor doesn´t make it cozy nor stylish really...it´s those cute smaller pieces that make the shelfs, nightstands and vanity tables look good! Also, it is great to combine different sizes next to each other...having everything big does not make sense at all. H&M Home has been my favorite for a long time now, stunning pieces!

These pieces aren’t undersized, it’s American homes that are oversized lol. Especially those cavernous “great rooms” that seem very popular in American new builds. I’d say these items are very Euro scale, just like most IKEA items are Euro scale. Also, Scandinavians are obsessed with lighting candles in winter and every home will have multiple candle holders in use at the same time spread out across the living space. I really love the candle holder you showcased here. Fun video!
@thestorykeeper68183 жыл бұрын
lol yeah I went to Pottery Barn the other day and the guy is like "How tall are your ceilings? 10 feet or 11 feet?" and I'm like "uh... no... I think they're 8"
@k.j.hulander22043 жыл бұрын
@@thestorykeeper6818 Yup lol. I don’t love 8’ ceilings but if you live in a climate where heating is essential in winter, 8’ makes sense. There is also an environmental dimension obviously as larger spaces require more energy to be sufficiently heated/cooled. I personally don’t like the gigantic furniture needed to fill up the enormous rooms. There is something to be said for human scale and a sofa that’s so deep that one can almost sit with legs fully stretched out on the seat cushion is not it.

The plates got me 😂 1st comment on your vids, Lovely! I will move in soon and pick tiny obsessions. The expensive plate is made in Portugal (I am in Europe) and would be willing to pay more for mainland EU than offshored, but even then it is expensive. The black ones are indeed boring and IKEA has a similar set too. I am instead looking at Zara Home's dinnerware, who have a spiralled set made in Portugal. I somehow don't want white dinnerware and I crave glass dishware! From HM home I like the duvet and some detail stuff with their focus towards neutrals, plus on the site they list the supplier and country for some items! (In Europe at least)
