The new layout looks great RJ. Glad to see you back. You young guys are the savior of the hobby and make this old 70 yr old still enthusiastic about trains. All my trains are packed and moved to another house as I moved back to the homestead. Will take all winter to unpack and plan a new layout ( much smaller) Seeing your videos as well as the other guys, fills my head with good ideas. Stay well, live life as it comes and have fun with the videos when the spirit moves you.

(Tom again.) It's too bad those large Billboard-type signs on the layout weren't lit, too. I really liked that Billboard sign of the dog sniffing the rails. That sign should have had a pin-light type light shining on it in the night scenes. (IMO) Thank you for sharing this new layout with all of us, sir!!!!

really enjoyed watching you video, nicely set out. I like all the detail especially the billboard, with piggy wiggly, also liked the mix combination of old and new E.g., the old town mixed with the modern corporate buildings, good to see that you decided to start doing content, keep it up. All round brilliant layout.😊👍

Great layout. Must take a lot of time and money to do all that. In So Calif. we don't have àny hobby supplies store where I live. Ño body I know of have anything to do with model trains or building anything to do with toy trains. Nothing at all except in San Diego but I have no car and no space for anything anyway, looks like I am thankful I just have videos like yours to watch. Setting up a track on the carpet is even a rare thing these days!

Welcome back! You did a great job on the new layout. I really like the cornfield and the pond. Kind of reminds me of my family's old farm in Pennsylvania. I got to see it again last fall when I went up to York. You just need trees around the them and the residential area. I definitely need to get one of the those TV shops for my city! Hope to see more of your progress in the future! Thanks for the update and good luck with everything!

Glad you're back and the new layout looks nice. Make the videos you want! I subscribed because I liked your enthusiasm for O Gauge trains. If old me could go back and give advice to young me when I was your age it would be to, as often as possible, do the things that make you happy and have fun even while dealing with the BS of work and life. It all works out and things turn out for the best. Although the struggle is real sometimes it makes us stronger and better prepared for the next adventure. Taking a step back and re-evaluating things is a really good practice. 👍

I finally got caught up with your reveal of the newly expanded layout, RJ. Sorry to learn May was such a rough month for you. Glad to know you had support to get through the hard part. The new look is just great. With the wider loop and the extra room for the town, it's very satisfying to look at, watching the trains gliding around. Especially liked the night scene. The pond was a great addition and really shows up well at 'night'! Glad to have you back online.

Great video. I agree with you on leaving the space to the right of Chik fil-a open. You can use your paint marker to make parking spaces, and add a landscape barrier between the parking lot and road next to the trolley line. Awesome stuff and congrats on the 72" curves.

Good job kid I'm still learning myself however I'm contrary to the train culture my layout is on the floor it is 21 and 1/4 ft long by 11 ft wide I model the terrain of Canada with cooling and oil industries now they're not accurate places it is fictional but overall it is my version of Canada's industries looking at your layout you are awesome your prototypical and good and I'm sure you have good parents good job from the Nelsons keep this hobby going 👀🫀🙏✝️🧠🦻🛠️🛠️🫂😭🧐😇

I’ve gotta say, that’s a seriously impressive remodel! If you’re interested, what I would do with that empty space is install a kid’s park or maybe a Lionel operating playground. Since it’s right behind the residential area, it could be where the kids could play while they wait for either Mom or Dad’s train to pull into the station.

I would leave your mid track passenger platform low level. I think that a high level would detract from the steam locomotives and Madison type passenger cars. I have two train tables one for Lionel in O gauge and the other for the Marx trains in O27. Both tables are based on dealer displays from the 1950-1960 era with the operating accessories of that era. Because of limited space I was not able to set up the coal ramp, log loader, and a few others so they remain on static display. Great job on the layout. Take care and God bless.

Great layout, really great changes. Probably tired of hearing everything talk about your animals that had fallen. But glad to see new content, and you take your time. Real world is important and trains are supposed to be fun but not stressful. So if someone is pressuring you, don't put them in your life. Do content on your time, even if it means a video or two a year. This hobby is supposed to be fun after all.

Hi RJ! I love the layout of your layout! I am always thrilled to see young people interested in the hobby, particularly O-gauge. The Acela is amazing and the interiors are awesome. Your pond is very nice and the reflection of passing trains is great, especially at night! Do you have an access door to reach the back of the layout? Is it 8’ deep? Anyway, layouts are always a work in progress, and it looks like you’re having fun! Rich
