As someone who just have learned Swedish for two months now, I can say it is often very difficult to pronounce Swedish names correctly, take for example Uppsala. :D Please be a little forgiving of us foreign speakers! Having said that, it is very usual in English language to spell and pronounce foreign places the English way - I experienced the same in my home country, Germany. For example people call "München" Munich or "Köln" Cologne. The "Brandenburger Tor" is often named "Brändenbürg Gate". But I'm okay with that. Most of the time I find a English accent when it comes to pronounce German words quite lovely. :-D

As an old mountain fox, I'm pretty sure you showed clips of Làddjuvàggi with mountains such as Tuolpagorni during the part you presented Abisko national park. So there was a bit of a mistake. But you also shared clips from Abisko National Park. I can recommend the city of Kalmar, which is located at the bridgehead to Öland. Kalmar is an old city that breathes a lot of history and is actually counted as Sweden's most restaurant-dense city. Cozy cobblestone streets, beautiful nature and more sunny days than the west coast.

As a Swede myself, I would say that you should skip Malmö and rather check out nearby Lund. Visby, on the island of Gotland, should be high up on the list too. I would like to add the accessibilty of nature to the gems of Sweden: As long as you leave nature as it was, i.e. don't litter or damage anything, you are free to roam anywhere in nature, regardless of who owns the land.

This would be good advertising for places and places if they were pronounced correctly, bring in a Swede who can explain how to pronounce names, otherwise it is a good tourist info
@bjornh46643 жыл бұрын
Yes, the pronounciation is very much hit or miss in this video. Some of the places were only identifiable by the footage, as the pronounciation was garbled. Case in ppoint: at 8:50 "the famous town of Ha". It's "Hjo", pronounced pretty much like "you", which is not least reflected in the local tourist board's slogan "I love Hjo".

@MsMekel932 жыл бұрын
I would say anywhere else but Stockholm. Nothing to see there, just a bunch of stressed busy city dwellers
@apflappie2 жыл бұрын
If going for the first time to Sweden I woukd recommend to visit a real nature area instead with beautiful views and no bother to visit Stockholm. The impressive nature and lack of human presence is the special thing of Sweden. Stockholm is nice but not super special compared to other nice cities worldwide.
@erik....2 жыл бұрын
@@apflappie Sure, if you're into just nature then fine. But as a swede from the north (high coast) I love to visit Stockholm, the big archipellago, many castles around there and so on, and also walking around in the city, eating good food and drinking beer. Not to mention all the museums. ABBA, Vasa and so on.
@apflappie2 жыл бұрын
@@erik.... as an invandrare living in Värmland I love Stockholm too and visited it 3 or 4 times during the last 2 years. I love the high coast too by the way. But in the case you propose, somebody visiting Sweden for the very first time and willing to see what makes Sweden special, I think the 'need' to see Stockholm is distracting from the 'real thing'. I would recommend North Värmland, Dalarna, Jämtland, High Coast instead, if possible Lappland. Stockholm is very nice within Sweden but is quite far from the really special nature and on European scale not thst outstanding. To see a really beautiful city visit Budapest, Rome, Tallinn, Vilnius..... But one should not argue om taste is a proverb in my mother tongue, so I understand also your opinion to visit Stockholm. As said Stockholm is really nice and there is a lot to see.
