'Tim's friend Gerard Darby is back with more amazing books - this time it is pop up books!
Amazing 3-D bunches of flowers pop out from every page of the first book, designed by Ray Marshall (raymarshall.com/portfolio/).
Next, a book that celebrates Leonardo da Vinci. Each time you turn a page, another of his inventions pops up!
'Little Hazelnut' is a book by Anne-Florence Lemasson.
“Squirrel drops a precious hazelnut and the snowfall buries it. The woodland animals and birds come and go, but no-one finds the nut - and in the Spring a little tree sprouts in its place.”
Finally, 'Alice's Adventures in Wonderland' by Robert Sabuda. This is a very inventive pop up book, and as well as the main pop up on each page, there are little extra animated pop ups on each page.

I got so excited when he pulled out the Alice's Adventure in Wonderland book. I still have it, but unfortunately I used it so much when I was a kid that some of the pop up parts ripped. It was always such a magical book to me.

Robert Sabuda's pop up books are incredible feats of paper engineering. If you ever have the chance, please look at his pop up book for The Wizard Of Oz, the hot air balloon is absolutely breath-taking!

Don’t get me wrong…this is one of my favorite channels. I rewatch all these videos all the time. With that said, there is something inherently funny about two scholarly gentlemen analyzing something that was probably made for kids.

That Da Vinci book is WOW! Very thoughtful book as he deserved. Winter to spring is very interesting concept; bright colourful animals on white plains snow which becomes bigger on each page and finished with a whisper sound of spring 🌱 but the last one, Alice in Wonderland, is the magnificent one. Anyway I love all books that you guys showed. Thanks.

I have never seen such wonderful pop up books as these.. It makes me wonder how in the world one goes about the business of designing them.. I reckon one does it in reverse.. Starting with the unfolded page, and working backwards.. Even so, the mind BOGGLES at the inventiveness and skill on show here.. Marvellous! 👍

Sadly only one popup remains in my collection although it was the oldest with a Copyright of 1951 (may be a bit younger but aging and its presence in family puts it atleast in the early 60s and probably wasn't brand new when bought or received) called The way we Travel, unfortunately theres no photo option for KZbin but it's full of atomic age art with my favourite scene being the Space port, naturally it needs repairs (which I'm looking at doing very carefully) but I'd never get rid of it.
