I’ve been reading the comments and it was a bit annoying. Here’s my opinion. One, She didn’t say she was doing ‘What my rabbits eat!’ She did a cage tour. Two, If she out in the dedication to make this (AMAZING) cage why would she treat them wrongly? Three, You could’ve worded it in a kind way instead of making wrong assumptions. Four, Even if she did do something wrong, Word it something like this: ‘Hey I didn’t see hay in there, Where do you put the hay?’ Or ‘I didn’t see any hay, I just wanted to check if you still feed it to them since it’s important!’ Five, Can’t anybody just appreciate the amazing care she gives her pets?

Bravo for being so caring to these little guys. I wish I had this kind of space! I have one baby rabbit and I am looking for ideas to expand his space and get him a girlfriend to bond with. A few suggestions: The white picket fence may be too sharp if the happen to fall on it. Have you thought of a few hidey boxes with two entrances/exits? Again, I love it.
@AdriRachelle3 жыл бұрын
There are several tunnels running under the treehouse with multiple doors. The picket fence is plastic and not sturdy or wedged into the ground. If one of them were to fall on it it would tip right over. Thank you for your concern and suggestions! Ben had a great time planning and building it....as he does with everything.

All looks amazing. With the waterer issue, try raising it off the floor just a little bit to where they cant get their paws and fur in it cause they just lay there for the water to soak up all their fur. Probably just a couple inches to a comfortable head level while on all 4 feet. I wouldn't worry about if it was to high to where they cant drink because they can always stand up. You can anchor it to a block of wood that is no bigger than the base of the waterer. This is what i did for my quail because they would always step in it or push shavings in it making it a soup and it worked perfect.
@RabbitAndTheLabBestFriends3 жыл бұрын
It’s cool I hope Do you have air and heat for them and I hope you’re spending quality time in there with them they need to bond with you also that water thing is very dirty you have got to clean that
@AdriRachelle3 жыл бұрын
They don’t require heat where we’re located but they do have shade, fans and frozen bottles as needed during the summer. This is a sanctuary built on the premise that rescue animals do not HAVE to be socialized. These rabbits were taken from breeders where they’d never been handled and human interaction stresses them out. A rabbit can life a wonderful, perfectly fulfilled life without having a human relationship. That bond is only for the humans/owners benefit. If they seem like they want some time with us I’m in the cage daily and ready and willing. But they prefer to play amongst themselves and I’m happy to just watch!
@sereen4614 жыл бұрын

Loved it! But a couple things I would like to recommend, first I saw you were using water bottles, its more natural for them to drink from water bowls. and I recommend, since you are keeping them outside, to double the height of the plastic grids lining the enclosure and maybe even inserting some into the ground so nothing can dig into there.
@traceysimmons49134 жыл бұрын
Really cool idea, I like the idea for those titles to use to keep them cool. I would totally do that if I had kept mine outside. But I live in Texas it gets so hot, so I keep them housed inside for fear of them being overheated. But I am sure their are many good rabbit owners out there that can accommodate cool places for their outdoor rabbits.

One critique that I had to muster to get because this is so awesome, but why no real grass like use the natural ground?
@AdriRachelle3 жыл бұрын
With Angora rabbits natural grass/ground can cause their fur to get filthy and matted it also makes it very hard to keep the pen clean which can lead to skin problems. The way we have this built the urine soaks through the astroturf to the sand beneath and I vacuum their pellets up and use them for fertilizer. It's a win/win symbiotic relationship. 🙂

Omg such a good idea! We are moving on a farm soon and my mom doesn't want pets inside the house so I am definitely going to do this!! But the only thing is that it is really cold there and snows A LOT so, I am going to make an actual building! One thing though is I would be terrified leaving the bunnies alone on that treehouse so I think (but you can do what you want because it is not my business) you should add like more wood or chicken wired so they don't fall!
@AdriRachelle3 жыл бұрын
Rabbits do well in cold weather. I had my first rabbits as a child in northern Michigan...cold and lots of snow 7-8 months of the year. They will need an enclosed area to get in out of the cold thou. The railing on the ramp is quite sturdy, The distance to the ground is not very far (I have never actually seen them on the top ramp. That was more for looks...lol). Enjoy farm life...it's fantastic.

Need to do a better job appreciating all of the support but I was really taken aback by anyone concluding that someone who cares THIS much about their pets would then deny them their most basic need (food)! oh that looks amazing. ive got a question 1) how do you deal with a very shy and scared rabbit. When shall i pick them up and pet them? your rabbits are very lucky
@Iris_024 жыл бұрын
A loooot of patience. If you hand feed them and give them some treats or pellets out of your hand they will trust you because you are the one giving them food. And rabbits love food. You can try petting them when feeding them at the same time. If they are used to that, you can pet them without them eating. And I don't pick my rabbits up because they hate it. Some rabbits tolerate it. That doesn't mean they like it, most of them really don't. So make sure to respect them if you notice they dislike it I hope I could help
@sarahhhx33 жыл бұрын
You need to have bonding time everyday with hand feeding and petting, don’t try to pick her or him up they won’t trust you most hate being picked up they think a predator is picking them up. You have got too let them do their own thing and come to you, if I was a bunny and saw a human standing up at me I would be scared too. Get to her or his level think like a bunny.
@Floridasweetdeals2 жыл бұрын
The reason Most rabbits do not like to be picked up is because in the Rabbit World the first time a rabbit is "picked up" ...is usually by it's Predator. Sad but true ....
