I have noticed when there is a large CQ contest running, how the bands seem to open up. Could this be the affect of broadcasted radio waves supporting the reflective layer?

Just bounce signals off the Starlink satellite constellation. The density is just approaching the critical level that will allow 24 hour communication between any two points on Earth. VHF and UHF frequencies are best for this purpose and the Moon can be used as a backup if there is an unfortunate gap in coverage for any reason.

Thanks for sharing Peter, I think it's a great idea, as so many ops now have big amps and are not sure what to do with them, and of course you are a day early as many have pointed out, but obviously this is the effect of this new type of propagation. With this in mind, I think uk ops should rally ofcom to have 10kw amps, that way, apart from yourself of course, some might get a signal further than eu hi. I did read this a day ago of course, living in zl. Cheers mate.

Isn't this amazing? Almost like a natural transistor. Exciting the base. Sounds possible enough. It's also possible to have really good 10 meter propagation for about 3 minutes during a nuclear explosion... "N3xxx, last transmission, 73". "Thank you station, your signal is a good 25/81coming in. This is KI03, clear on your final."

The Russians have been putting putting mirrors into space for many years with a specific polarisation for Russian signals. I think it's 1 degree off axis and they have them hidden close to the "апрель" GNSS satellite constellation. I operate through QO-100 and one day I will see if I can work over one.

We know materials that carry electricity, eg, copper, aluminium, iron, carbon, etc. can be used to direct or beam radio waves. Why don't we smoke cigarettes under our antennas to direct transmission nvis on a calm day or sideways on a windy day ?

How many hours did you move you clock forward Peter? You might only need a few of the "big gun" stations (we know where they live) and this might work. How about the ISS operating a megawatt transmitter as it circled the Earth? They have OMs from one of the aforementioned countries aboard.

A.P.R.I.L. aside, HAARP is doing similar experiments, with the idea of improving propagation of ELF/VLF waves by ionospheric heating, although not too successfully I think. Do research the work of Morris Cohen if interested in details.
