Yes!... that was on the Australian tour. Every male reporter was obsessed with her backside and directed all the interviews that way. It was so insulting, embarrassing and cringeworthy all-round!!

🙂ABBA entered Sweden's music festival "Melodifestivalen", with Ring Ring, but they had to sing it in Swedish (Bara Du Slog En Signal), they lost and came in only at 3rd place, so they couldn't go on to represent Sweden at the 1973 Eurovision Song Contest. They recorded a version in Spanish too. Their English version was their first big English-language hit in all the Scandinavian territories. This is also the title track of their début album as a foursome.

That's the 1974 video for when ABBA re issued RIng Ring after Waterloo. The original is from 1973 and there's a video to go with the 1973 version of ABBA singing it in a garden,Frida with straight hairstyle

The out-there stage clothes were partially caused by the Swedish tax authorities. You could deduct the cost of the clothes - but only if they couldn't be worn as everyday clothes.

Hey I just had to say I just found out something interesting about Frida. She took fashion design classes in Stockholm and was an accomplished seamstress. She designed the snake outfit! She also designed the blue and gold cat dresses She and Agnetha often wore. She also designed the Waterloo outfits. No end to her talents!

The English lyrics were written by Neil Sedaka and Phil Cody. The only time they asked someone else to write the lyrics.

I think Neil Sedaka did the English lyrics for Waterloo as, well, could be wrong, but I think so.
