Thanks for Your support and Love.
The following are five best practices for choosing a hydraulic breaker:
Match the breaker to the project.
Choose the right tool for the job.
Avoid blank firing.
Make protective housing a top priority.
Insist on auto-adjusting impact.
A jackhammer operates by driving an internal hammer up and down. The hammer is first driven down to strike the chisel and then back up to return the hammer to the original position to repeat the cycle. The effectiveness of the jackhammer is dependent on how much force is applied to the tool.
While they are amazingly useful, they're also somewhat difficult to use. Using a jackhammer is not for the faint of heart. It isn't something that you'll be able to get and learn how to use immediately. Many areas require jackhammer operators to undergo training and certification before they're allowed to use one.
To determine which tool is best for you - you want to determine what work you will normally be doing with the tool. Generally speaking - a 40lb breaker is good for 4” concrete, 60lb for 6” and a 90lb for 9”.
A hydraulic hammer or breaker is an investment, and with the proper maintenance and care, it can last about 8-10 years. However, this ultimately depends on how well it is cared for during and between uses.
By putting pressure on one part of a fluid, it transfers the pressure to all areas of the fluid, which multiplies the force. Hydraulic Hammers | Breakers uses hydraulic oil, which cannot be compressed, with pressure stored in a small canister.
A hydraulic rock breaker is a powerful pounding hammer that is fitted to an excavator for demolishing concrete structures or rocks. It is powered by an auxiliary hydraulic system from the excavator, which is fitted with a foot-operated valve for this purpose.
The upper force is greater than the down force and the valve spool is moved upwards. As the valve spool is rising and the oils passage is getting opened, the nitrogen gas pressures down the piston. The whole pressure is transmitted to the tool (also known as a chisel), which uses the hammering energy to break rocks.

Hello P T. Good job freshening the internals of the hydraulic pick. One small problem. One of your guys pushed the casing over. That's fine, except the 300 lb hard edged block landed on the polished sliding zone of the pick head. I guarantee that dented it, which usually results in a sharp edge. The unwanted edge always cuts the new rubber seal, causing the carefully measured new hydraulic fluid to eventually escape. So it will be back in a few months, covered in oil-soaked cement dust. Such is life.

See dont need concrete. Splash enough oil around walk over in continuously for a few years let it bake in the hot sun. Youve got yourself man-made bitumen,, next best thing. I'd say the ground water in that area is flammable

These boys do a great job considering the conditions they have to work in. They don’t even have a simple dolly to move heavy stuff with. I love the torque wrench, a ten pound sledge hammer😂😂. That’s like the way I tension bolts, snap it and back half a turn.

"What's the torque spec on those long bolts"? Five big hammer pounds but don't confuse it with the medium hammer. That is metric and you will have to convert.

They work in the dirt because it adds a bit of grinding paste to all the components and that grinds everything down to make it easier to re-assemble, also it ensures a return customer and therefore more money. We all know that if you work in a shit hole you’ll get a shit result. Just sayin!!!

Wow, such inefficiency and handicaps! They don’t have even a chain winch, so it takes two kids to move anything substantial. Oh, the backaches. They are in a business that requires cleanliness, but they work in the dirt. They can’t even afford a handheld wire brush, much less an electric one. Bolts are torqued down with a 10 lb sledge. As a consequence their repairs aren’t worth a dang, so they don’t get paid much and the cycle continues. Sad.
