I grew quite a bit of weed back in the day. Yellowing leaves usually means nitrogen deficiency, and/or calcium/magnesium deficiency. Your amended vs not shows this pretty well. It seems the thai soil is heavy in clay, so I wouldn't know would constitute a good living soil there, but there are a ton of amendments you can layer in your soil like a lasagna. Usually, putting a layer of worm-castings is the best way to give nitrogen.

My farm is next to the river and my soil type is sand loam . I layer my holes with hay ,caw dung and throw in calcium/ magnesium plus manganese with about a pound of worm castings and top it off with a NPK broad spectrum . It works great 🙏

Link all the drains to a pond and install a submersible drainage pump to remove water during monsoon. Try using controlled release fertiliser during the planting, excellent result too.

I link most now that are gravity fed. The new part of the farm still needs to update the drainage but it's not that bad.

Kradum thong is the one ,I planted 150 of them in my farm to achieve this. Kradum thong only takes 90 days until ripe so you will harvest this first .this year the price for kradum thong was 220 B per kilo .

Hi again Terry. So ive done the prep for all my holes, with your recipe, but i started way too late earlier this year. I dont think the soil will be for for at least another 3-4 months. (we ran out of water as well, so had to get another weld buildt). I´ve asked the local durian farmers up here, but getting very mixed answers, so maybe you can clarify. Would it be too late to plant durian in October-November? Some locals here say its a big no no and others say it doesnt matter.

Well you can but you will need to use a shade net . You want to black the sun down side so from 2 pm on it will have shade . As you know it's best to plant in June at the beginning of monsoon season ,you get all the shade and water with good temp. When planting in the dry season you must ensure the trees get a lot of water . This year I watered everyday with a drip line right to the roots of my newly planted trees and it worked great .

Hi Terry, i´ve noticed that you´ve got hoses attached on your irrigation pipes, not the sprinkler heads as shows in your previous videos? Is that for younger durians, or whats the pupose of having the hose attached?

It's a drip line. I use it for the first year I'll put a sprinkler head in the 2end year forward

@@lorteguden the root ball is small when you plant so you want to direct to water directly to it so you get deep saturation so the tap root can expand . Sprinkler heads water 2 to 3 meters around the tree where the first year there are no roots you only water weeds this way drip line you water the tree

When we plant the trees we try to reduce the stress from direct afternoon sun for the first 3 months after planting . We only do this if we plant during the dry season

@@ParkPedal I studied high density farming with apples ,mangos and other fruit trees .As for durian I went out and spoke with farmers that have been doing it. There really is nothing out there for durian trees .
