Amazing Scuba Diving at Casino Point in Avalon, Catalina Island in August 2020. Catalina Island is a one hour high speed ferry ride from the mainland of Long Beach, CA. Casino Point is named after the "Casino" building, built in 1929, adjacent to the dive area. One of the premier scuba diving spots in Southern California. In fact, Casino Point is the most heavily dived single dive spot in the USA. On weekends there can be hundreds of scuba divers, both experienced and those taking scuba classes. This was a great day of diving with the highlight being an encounter with two Giant Wreckfish Groupers (some call them Giant Black Sea Bass). With one estimated at 5' long and over 300 lbs! Conditions were good with at least 50' visibility in most areas. Water temperature was 64 degrees at the surface. Lots of fish out all day. Please like if you enjoy the video!
