Freediving with Giant Black Seabass at Catalina Island

Went snorkeling at Catalina Island years ago. I thought I would be brave a swim out farther than I should. One second it was beautiful sea bottom then all of a sudden black abyss. Through the forest of sea weeds all I see are these huge dark figures awaiting my arrival. I couldn't turn around fast enough. Those groupers were the size of a small sheep. One of my scariest moments. This video brought back memories!!!
