My man... You need to hear Leatherface given a chance to shine. His songs make more sense if you know the originals, but even without them they are instant Country classics. Friends with No Faces, Scream Like You Are Dying, I Think My Chainsaw's Sexy... Lovely pieces. And I'm not even a country fan.
