? What is the length of the 2 pieces? I did the 108 chains. But it looks really long. Thank you.

Me too. I just finished it following directions exactly and I wound up sewing the ends together. I didn't need to include the hair tie. Even without it came out big for me. My tension is quite tight also so I was surprised. I used Red Heart with Love Yarn so it may be because of that having a bit more stretch since it's softer yarn. I may try another with that same yarn but drop down a hook size.
