I flew this exact flight, ate the exact same meal and everything! It was great. Meal was amazing, flight attendants were great with service and overall really impressed with CZ.

Have flown LHR-CAN-AKL on China Southern a few times in the past. The crew were polite, but they were like automata, doing things by numbers. They had virtually no English comprehension. One passenger wanted a tissue - even with several attempts acting out the request the crew had no idea what was needed. Would worry about their ability to deal with an emergency!

Thank you! I'll fly with China Southern for the very first time from Amsterdam. I was worrying about their quality, but feel relaxed after watching your review. It looks good, clean, and well serviced with the free amenities.

And indeed looks much better than European Airlines such as British Air, KLM, Air France, Lufthansa... I no longer fly with any European Airlines for a long haul trip.

11:20 the Civil Aviation Administration of China (CAAC) requires everyone to be seated 20 minutes after takeoff and 30 minutes before landing

Wow, China Southern really but British Airways to shame. They were punctual, fly a modern aircraft on this route and the two hot meals looked very good indeed for economy class. Definitely a carrier I'd consider for travelling to Asia after watching your video. Hope you enjoyed Seoul and Jeju, I loved South Korea when I visited a few years ago.

Honestly, the bigger legacy european carriers are all kinda bad to meh nowadays, Air France is okay to a degree but Lufthansa and British are just bad, cmopared to what they charge. Chinese carriers are not that great either though, their hygene is lower than other eastern carriers, and if you are vegetarian or just dont like asian food, you will have a bad day usually

Thanks for this video,, I’m still debating either to take Qatar or etihad to Asia since I’ve read a lots of negative comments about China airlines.. I will definitely consider China Southern!

For Irish people from March 13th no need apply China visa can go directly in the plane to Beijing Daxing by China Southern airlines only hold Irish passport and China arrival card can enter to Beijing immigration directly and have fun there and stay for 15 days visa free for Irish Citizen.

Chinese airlines has an advantage over it's European carriers as it it allowed to fly over Russian airspace, and reducing the flight time. Was this in your consideration when you booked CZ?

Yep, definitely a big advantage. The main factor for me was cost. But it helps that China Southern take 3 hours less to fly this route compared to British Airways.

One large cabin bag and one small cabin bag. Same as most long haul airlines

my wife is Korean and we are heading there on the a350 with his exact route to see her parents, i previously flew alone on the 787 and 777, there 787 was excellent, so i have high hopes for their a350. subscribed

China southern was a pretty nice experience for me. I did fly different aircrafts on china airlines and china southern so i can not compare too well but from the 8 flights of each i would honestly prefer china airlines. Both were a pretty pleasant surprise

Hi Fred, WOW !!! Nice video you hit the button on the main items. Good tip for the seat choice. Im flying China Eastern to BKK in May via Shanghai. I was going to book with either China Eastern or Southern. I read good reviews about Eastern so I'm looking forward to the flight. I normally fly Emirates or Qatar to BKK but wanted to try something different plus the cost is getting silly. Thank you for your time and effort in sharing and making a great video. $115 USD? That is a steal at that price! I searched for China Southern posts because I just got back from a trip from LAX and Guangzhou (CAN) and wanted to add my compliments to the service. My Economy Class ticket price wasn't anywhere near yours but I believe it must depend on demand. Both my flights to and back were packed to near capacity. Flight time was 14 hours to and 13 back to the US. The flight attendants were very attentive and responsive. Even the ground support staff in China were great. I was traveling with an elderly person, and staff were very respectful and helpful with her needs. Lastly, the flight attendants, in addition to being professional and helpful appeared as if they were recruited from modeling school. Males and females were all gorgeous. Plane was clean and comfortable for econo class. My only complaint was the main dishes were not very good. Too salty and had weird flavors. The fruit and yogurt were fine though.

Agree, cabin crew were all great. I found the food to be fine, but that might just be because the catering was from London.

Chinese airlines often have very cheap flights from Europe to Asia. Just need to be flexible with dates. You can find return trips for under £500 sometimes.

the flight i went to from sydney lay over guanzhou then off to manila.....the flight was actually excellent and the landing was very smooth... the flight attendants works very hard and they really care about the passengers. i think one thing i suggest with the flight meals they should served ice cream..... the space in my seat has plenty of room.....i think now china southern airline is my favourie airline....even though they are budget airline but their services is quite amazing.... thankyou china southern airline

CZ at Auckland, the check in takes two hours and has the longest queue in the airport. They literally have 10 desks open and still took that long. Meanwhile emirates departing at the same time has no queue at all even though they using A380

Hello ! When you say that you paid 115$ per seat, was it for the fact of choosing your sit ? I have a flight with them and it's 800Y for the seat so it's like 5$... I'm a tall guy so the space that you show on this specific seat is very interesting !

You might want to check your currency conversion. 800 Chinese Yuan is about $115. You might have accidentally used Japanese Yen which would be $5.
