A “picture is worth a thousand words,” and throughout history, the adage has proven true. Photographers have documented the major events of our time, from wars and protest marches to space landings, historic speeches, scientific discoveries, sporting events, and other unforgettable moments.

I was a freshman in high school in 1961 and graduated from college in 1969. It was truly a new and unique time to be young. And kids say baby boomers are old fuddy duddies...I don’t think so, it was a wild time.

When I was growing up i.e. born in 1948, vintage was the 1920s and 30s and before, even the Victorian and Edwardian age of the 1800s and the early 1900s respectively, not the 1960s when I was a teenager! lol Thanks for sharing a trip down Memory Lane! Someday, the 1990s and the 21rst century will also become "vintage" as well!

1:35 My sister was born that day during that game. At the time men were not allowed into the delivery room. So my mom was telling me that my dad was running back and forth from the tv in the hospital to the delivery room door to get updates on my sister being born.

Air conditioning for the home first started coming out. We were the first ones in our city to have one.

That was my childhood lol. It was great and then I turned 13 in 1970 and it was even greater!

Your Sidney Portier photo is from “Guess Who’s Coming to Dinner”. Not “Julia” That starred Diahnn Caroll.

That's definitely NOT a woody station wagon in the Beach Boys photo

Nope, not a woody and not a station wagon. 🙄 I can remember when woodies were a regular thing. Actually, there were a few woody pickups but this isn't one of them. 😎

"Julia breaks barriers on TV," yet the photo is from the movie, Guess who's Coming to Dinner? Get educated.
