Amazing or ironic since gloves and shoes are made of rubber?

Not only are they concerned with personal protection equipment, it is obvious they value their environment highly, especially ground water resources.

It’s in our food chain, in tofu, in cheese, in pickles and in those sports drinks that those stupid people buy. No need for gloves, no worse than handling salt.

Very colorful process, but what a large process to go through for rubber bands. These people really work for a living. Rubber is such an important commodity in our everyday lives. Thank you!

6:57 if you worked in that station, just imagine how easily you could pocket a few of those rubber bands without anyone noticing. Do that for a week and you could have close to a hundred. But I’m sure each worker gets inspected each day after their shift.

Not worth the risk if you got caught … heard one guy accidentally had a rubber band stuck to his toe when he was leaving , let’s just say he doesn’t have 10 toes anymore

Same here … was a welder and so happy with each passing day. Life seems miserable after I went to school, became an investment banker, got a few yachts and planes, and got married to a stable woman with wonderful kids … oh boy do I miss those days when I was poor!

Would be useful to have some explanation of what is being used and what is being done with it ! Will never look at an elastic band in the same way again - without thinking of those hard working workers !

At what point is hand labor more economical than other methods? I find it hard to believe that bag of rubber bands on my desk was hand-made in a village in India.
@kamra99a6 ай бұрын
If labor is cheap, they use cheap machines, even if those machines require a lot of labor. If labor is expensive they buy the best, most productive machines because they want to make efficient use of that labor. There is a wide spectrum of possibilities. This is why labor unions can improve general efficiency of a factory. They force the wages up, so management will buy the most productive machines in order to make good use of their expensive labor. The result is higher productivity per man hour. If the wages had remained low, productivity would also remain low because management would see that using more labor and less machinery is the cheapest way to make the product.

This NOT some modern factory, but rather some back yard hacked factory. They are using substitute McGiverered equipment. In no way is this a legal cooperation. OSHA would shut this place down in a flash. I saw some pretty youthful workers that in no way be allowed a work permit to work there. A real factory would have the workers in protective gear, they would have proper gasfired and electrified furnaces and heating units. The inspectors would not allow the filthy conditions they work in and the fall risks (stuff they could fall over while doing their tasks would be removed) would not be allowed. The workers would be protected from the chemicals with gloves, masks, respirators and protective clothing. The building would be fully enclosed and proper ventilation systems installed in the manufacturing facility. This whole thing looks like something a farmer out together in his back yard to make a little extra money.
