The idea of praying the "Sinner's Prayer" or an "Altar Call" will not even save you. It's an unbiblical doctrine. Peter said to the crowd in Acts 2:38-39 (NRSV), "Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ so that your sins may be forgiven; and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. For the promise is for you, for your children, and for all who are far away, everyone whom the Lord God calls to him." If you read through the Book of Acts after that, every time a person came to accept Jesus, they got baptized. Furthermore, baptism is included in the Great Comission (Matthew 28:18-20).
