They just took it to their first judging show and won first place. Love the car to death... There are only 2 reasons I still do this. Money and love. Period.

I agree with Jay Leno... even if it's a museum piece, DRIVE IT! Take a 100 point Concours car, drive it until it's only a 70 point car, then restore it again!

To cars by Jeff, the term for this Packard, is coach, a club coupe, is shorter, also a coupe has either a half seat or no back seat The back seat on this Packard is a full back seat, and longer body than a coupe, that style like this model is called a " Coach". I also have heard the term given, a club sedan. I enjoy your videos on various autos. Kevin Phoenix

How I would viciously bitch slap anyone that would dare attempt to put even one wrong nut or bolt on that beautiful piece of fine American jewelry! Let alone any of the other ghastly rape they commit to some of these poor defenceless cars. Like the disgusting candy paints, V8s, auto trans, (getting nauseous) or those hideous oversized stupid wheels made on a cnc and powder coated that look like something from a piss soaked nightmare!😝 I'm getting angry so I'm going to shut up now!😠 But seriously, that is a very beautiful car and I pray it found the right home. I'm shopping for one myself. A 37/40 coupe or sedan, 6/8 cyl, 3 speed od. Can't wait till the fun starts!!😆 Thanks for the great video!

May have been used scarcely because of the Great Depression and the "bread lines". I've read that people threw rocks at expensive cars as they passed by. Many were garaged and cheaper models driven depending on where they were going.

Well, it was parked in '42 at the beginning of the war. People were encouraged to scrap older cars for the steel they contained for the war effort. THANK GOD so many Packard owners had the foresight to hide their cars from the scrap yards.

4:49 it said to change oil every 8,000 miles. People act like 8,000 miles is too long. I wonder did some dealers or shops change it to 3,000 miles to make more money.
@michaelbenardo5695
@michaelbenardo5695 5 ай бұрын
That is wrong. Packard would never tell it's customers something stupid like that. If there is no oil filter, you should change it every thousand miles, 2 or 3,000 miles if it has an oil filter.

@@hijodelaisla275 think ... if the odometer was ever broken or tampered with, then the car could have MORE miles on it than what shows on the odometer... therefor the word "actual" is used to indicate that the odometer reading can be trusted. It used to be common practice for used car dealers to "roll back" the odometer on cars they were selling to get a higher price for them.
@hijodelaisla275
@hijodelaisla275 2 жыл бұрын
@@myrryxmas691 You can insist, attempt to take a condescending tone and make snide comments like "think" but you're wrong. The use of "actual" is meaningless, other than for emphasis. Although it's unlikely given the storage-until-1981 story, that the odometer was tampered with, you don't know for certain that it wasn't.
