A truly beautiful car, Packards are my favorite car built here in the USA during its time during the 20's , 30's or 40's. Hope you get a fine price for this Packard. Enjoy it in the health and happiness you should enjoy.

You have a beautiful car there. I am very familiar with '37 120, 110, Super Eight and Twelve. In terms of value, I think the 120 takes the cake. If a buyer so chose, you could replace the front fenders to accommodate dual side mounts; but according to my friends whose cars are so equipped, cars without the side mounts actually handle better. I don't know what you are asking for this car, but it should definitely be at the high end.

Side mounts would help those long nosed, front wheel drive Cord L29 get a touch more traction, but otherwise on them and all others it adds a little more body roll and possibly even wallowing if there are suspension issues and heavy wheels. The mounting arms are thick and extremely heavy, the wheels themselves, the extra metal for the pocket in the fenders, adds quite a bit of extra weight that sits pretty far out and high compared to anything else. So it adds not only a lot of weight to the far outside, which causes increased body roll, but it adds more weight that needs to be swung when steering, increasing the effort the tires need to change direction. Add that all up, the wide spaced, high centered heavy weight near the front of the car would notably increase the roll and effort in corners. If one knows how to feel for such things, heh.

Hi Doug, All of the classic features you presented in the Packard 120 are the details I look for in the purchase of a classic car; thanks for such a thorough tour. If I ever want to sell a classic car, I'll call you! You presented the aesthetics, manufacturing design, precision engineering, aging materials, and so much more that evidences this classic Packard car remains a sensation. Also, your professional photography -- the camera angles and zoom in/out were on-time with your presentation. All of this skill while talking fast during the nation's HUMID heat-wave that made breathing difficult for all ages. Dang, that's stellar professionalism, Doug! I have a question. You said the worn dash knob "sets the speed." Does that mean either (1) cruise control to "set" speed, (2) the fuel choke to "increase" speed, or (3) something else? Thanks Doug for your reply, and I've subscribed to your channel. :-)

Hey Fire Dog 🐕!! Thanks for such kind words. Yea that July heat and humidity in the south is a bit much. Better than 2 feet of snow I guess. I feel an obligation to present for sale cars in the best light possible as many buyers are making online purchases. To answer your question, I believe you are making reference to the throttle pull knob. It just opens the throttle for a fast idle. However with the thermatic choke on, the idle cam does step up the idle to "fast choked idle" for warmup. So, I never understood what the throttle is for. I do not believe it was an attempt at a cruise control. If you find out, let me know. The wear of the nickel plating down to the brass indicates it sure has been used! But not by me. I purchased this Packard from Doug last July and will have to say his presentation in this video sealed the deal for me. When I saw and drove the car for the first time it was exactly as he stated and what I wanted. HIs personal knowledge of this particular Packard was very impressive. Drive the car almost daily and have had no issues or disappointments. He knows his stuff and is one of the best "slightly used" car salesmen I've ever delt with. Thanks again Doug!

What a Packard marvel. It must always be very fascinating to drive this car, being totally devoid of any electronics. All you need is the ability of the driver, knowing how to drive perfectly. My personal observation: in the video you are wearing flip-flops, and most likely, the pedals of this car do not allow you (probably due to their hardness) to drive barefoot (even if you probably drive better). Taking into account that the highway code allows barefoot driving. Maybe you didn't do it for aesthetic reasons, but in this case, driving barefoot is always a professional video, of a person presenting the car.

IL Fred, we don't drive with bare feet and don't recommend that or driving in flip flops. For an exact pedal feel, we prefer Simpson Race Products shoes. You are most correct however in that the experience of driving this car is all about the mechanical symphony. We always assure that the radio is in the off position too.

Thanks for your interest. The walkaround was intentionally long and with great detail. The new owner was sold on the car before making the trip from out-of-town to see it and appreciated the excessive details we presented. Car sold in 48 hours. Take a look at our other "non-sales" presentations and drive videos of the car for less detail.

Amazing! I've had a lot newer cars that the clock didn't work, you had to be King Kong to shut some of the doors, no spare tire, & 1% of the time there was an owners manual! Great job by all of the cars caretakers!

Thing is beautiful. Me n my dad are about to acquire a 37 packard, she isn’t in the best shape but she runs lol. How much money would you say you’ve put into it and how hard was it to find parts?

Parts are around and there are two companies that sell them among other eBayers. Max Merritt and Canter. I can tell you a gas tank is hard to find if not impossible and they are not being remade. But, a new tank for a 37 Chevy fits perfectly and the filler neck and all is the same. That is what I put in this 120. 5-bolt sender is also the same! Moneywise, you can spend a fortune on any car. Our advice is always to buy the best car you can afford. Most often, if you do a full restoration, you will not recover your costs in the finished value of the car. Thank you for your interest.

Bobby, we don't typically disclose final sales prices out of respect for new owners privacy. You can search '37 120s and get a ball park of what they are going for. Prices tend to fluctuate and vehicle conditions vary as well as how well they are sorted out for driving reliability. Surprisingly, a perfectly restored car that has been a museum display piece will need a lot of work and expense to make it road worthy and reliable again, albeit its perfect appearing condition.

We absolutly agree. The '37 120 body has never been off the frame, 60k original miles and refinished in the original paint technology from 1937 for period correct brilliance. Thanks for your interest and comment.
