Then every video online would be illegal lol. People record strangers in public for views everyday. I imagine the majority don’t get any cut from it even if the clip goes viral. People have said both their personal and professional lives have been ruined because a stranger made them into a meme without their consent.
@Rachel-wn8xi
@Rachel-wn8xi 11 ай бұрын
@@tori5738 the difference between what you were talking about and the situation posed in the Reddit postis that you are allowed to be filmed without your consent as long as there is no justifiable expectation of privacy, if you were being filmed in your house without your consent, that would be illegal because you do have a right and expectation to privacy in your own home, if you are out in public on the street walking about, there is no justifiable right or expectation of privacy
@tealkerberus748

@@Rachel-wn8xi And there's plenty of places where filming people in public is illegal anyway. Check all the places celebrities go to for a holiday - it's the places where paparazzi aren't allowed to harass them, or use telephoto cameras to get pictures of them in their swimsuits. A person's face should have a natural copyright attached to it such that other people can't use their image without their consent. It's your face, after all.

In the case of birthday boy, I think he and his gf are being taken advantage of. He said they pay for nearly every activity. I'm guessing "friends" were mad it wasn't a lavish party and won't go over there again since there's nothing in it for them as they're using OP for his money. Sad really 😢
@pillowvibes
@pillowvibes 10 ай бұрын
the fact that BOTH him and his gf were confused as to why they were so upset was a pretty clear NTA sign. even if it wasn’t necessarily just bc of the paying for activities, I’d imagine they weren’t talking to him very much if he was able to zone out and watch yt videos. the friends might’ve just been talking amongst themselves and not inviting him into the conversation.

The first story was so similar to my ex boyfriend. I've been a big fan of you and Dan for a good while like I did grow up with you in a way and when I was 17 (I'm 20 now) I was explaining how I missed certain videos and how funny you two were, and my ex got so jealous saying "they don't even know you exist" "why are you giving them money?" (I used to get involved with the younow comments stuff) and so on, basically saying I was cheating on him which y'know I wasn't. So he then decided to cheat on me with his girl best friend and messaged me "we're even now" lmao I'm glad he's out of my life, was such an a hole.

I gotta say, about that hair bear story, wool is used to make stuff all of the time, and that's hair from a sheep. If you keep your own hair nice and clean it's gotta be possible to use it for the same purposes. I think the only thing that makes it seem strange is that it's an uncommon choice. Depending on the colour and texture of your hair, it may even be indistinguishable from a sheep's wool.

i've just recently started watching phil again and i swear, i never had the mental capacity to stay paying attention to what he was saying at age 12 because i thought it was boring but now that im 19 this is the most fun i have ever had watching a youtube video, it feels like a deep breath of fresh air finally watching someone who is down to earth and real

I am not a fan of reading drama on social media (and I am a kind-hearted, forgiving person but I say that people are responsible for their own actions) but you do provide good advice and thoughts throughout 👍

"Hope it wasn't me and Dan" I don't think I've ever non ironically said "you cheeky bugger", and yet here we are, not even 10 seconds in, unable to say I've never said it non ironically anymore

I'm roughly the same age as the youtuber in the second post, I don't let basically any of the people I know irl follow my tiktok etc, especially family. It's keeping social circles/ parts of you seperate.

about the hair one i can understand both sides tbh. most people would understand the wife's perspective so no need to explain. for the guy with the family tradition, i can see how that started if it's a very old tradition as he said. for centuries it was common to give a strand of hair to loved ones (i heard about this with partners but idk if it happened with other close relatives), from my understanding of it the intention was to have something from the other when the two are apart in life (like not living together when engaged or when one goes to war) and something to remember by when the person is dead. it was common to make a bracelet with that hair or even to keep some of it inside a locket. basically, when this tradition started it wouldn't be too far fetched and it'd be like having a photo of the person. nowadays it is not a common practice to keep hair but there is a sentimental value to it, a harmless (if everyone agrees to it) tradition that the husband doesn't want to break. family is very important to me and mine has some traditions as well, mostly regarding naming of people, personally i would want to keep them because in a way it makes me feel connected to my ancestors, something which that man might be feeling. having said that, this definitely should have come up between the two a long time ago, maybe the wife didn't like it for the 'surprise' element of such tradition and the man should know that people nowadays don't do that so he should expect her not to be fine with it and discuss with her to come to a compromise. she married into that family with that tradition, she wouldn't have grown up thinking it's normal and she has no strong connection to it either, so he shouldn't be mad about her not accepting it. sorry for the long comment lol, i love aita videos and phil doing one is just 😘👌

think it’s so funny that someone probably clicked this video for the title hoping for something else then gets a video about RESPECTING BOUNDARIES AND PRIVACY idk if this was the intention but it’s genius regardless

i knew my relationship wasnt working because i was 1 year into it but i still wasn’t comfortable sharing certain things i love doing with my ex. it might be me having problems opening up in general about certain aspects of my life though, not necessarily the fault of my ex

i can relate to the partner being a bit jealous about the interests/obsessions. so much so that i barely ever feel like i can talk openly about them with him. it feels unfair bc i let him ramble about his interests, but he doesn’t like it when i do about mine, or talk about my fictional and celebrity crushes (which have been very important to me) just wanted to vent a lil here lmao
